I'm not far into the game but at the moment it just seems dw like.

Yeah i want to know if the gameplay has some depth or is just a hack and slash with no depth whatsoever and with depth i mean customization and stuff like that maybe leveling up, skills etc.

Nope. just like every other DW game.
all the Games like this are the same just to suit a fan base.

well, i like musou games and there are some items that you can equip but other than that you just smash the same button over and over again with the occasional second button for a hard hit or a special move. not even really combos so far. but i'm not that far into the game. but i haven't seen anything that hints to combo moves ( like press XXYYY pause XX). OP Pirate warriors so far had more complex mechanics

Dragon quest heroes brought some innovation to the musou genre they are just lazy with this one

So the musou/rage stuff is a little different. You build "rage" in the same way then activate it for a big boost to your damage. While it's active every kill builds up a secondary metre, once full you can trigger a massive aoe. Unlike DW8, in this game the rage isn't depleted at that point, so you can build up for a second aoe if there's enough to kill and you have enough time on your rage.

I've not played dynasty in a while, but this game seems more fluid with chaining your combos together. Dashing mid combo or right at the end cancels animation and makes the next attack quicker, and you also gain a sub weapon a few missions in, these have cooldowns but can also be used to stop a combo dropping in between main attacks.

It feels slower than dynasty at first until you get used to the dashing mechanic/animation cancel idea.

Missions are shorter so far then dynasty. Sub bosses and main bosses a better as breaking blocks is more like Samurai Warriors than Dynasty.

You have equipment to level up, and horses. It looks pretty simple though.

I've done 10 levels in the abyss/survival mode and that looks more in depth than I thought it would be. No timer. Missions within the missions, random harder optional encounters. A desire choice for each five levels which changes what you'll be faces in those five levels and the rewards you can get.

There was an opinion which mentioned that this entry is rather barebones even by Musou/Warriors standards. I.e. spam basic attack, filling up ultimate ability bar, use it, kill the mob - rinse and repepat. Nothing to write home about regarding gameplay mechanics.

If survival mode is all just that but for many repeating levels, I reckon it might become tedious rather fast even if you are a fan of the genre and/or berserk.

Those are opinions I've read around here, so take them with the grain of salt, just like anything really.
