Is this game dead?
Seems like the devs abandoned this game quite quickly. Shame.

Highly doubtful. Just 3 months ago the devs teamed up with Keystone Games which will allow them to bring even more content. Progress has slowed and they have been quiet for a couple weeks but I'm confident it's not dead.

Please don't get me wrong here, I really like this game and I am following the discussion on this board. But looking at the low sales figures I don't think that it is "highly doubtful" that the devs called it a day. They went dark about a month ago and there is still a lot of work to do since the game "officially" released. To me it looks like an intendently rushed release to get rid of the early access label.

Where are the bug fixes, e.g. the health balls are being kicked away most of the time instead of being picked up? Where is the implementation of proper key rebinding (you can still only rebind the movement keys)? What about the caves that should be there and which seem to be non existant ( I thoroughly dug up several islands and there are no caves at all) - maybe a bug in the algorithm, which I highly doubt since you can't dig lower than water level?

Regarding the caves:

It's not dead. Keystone are working on updates in a different way so that they are bigger and more radical updates. They have another game coming up to release soon (homicide detective) so it's been a little busy. The issues will be fixed though.

Hey guys! Rest assured we haven't abandoned Rogue Islands.

We are right in the middle of upgrading the engine. All content work is pretty much on hold until the game is running smoothly on the new foundation.

Maybe you should start to communicate better and inform your customers what's going on behind the scenes? So, the game just left early access, why are you "upgrading the engine" after the full release?

The game has more features yet to come, so keeping with the latest version of the engine is in the best interests of those features as they are pretty hardware dependant. Once that is over with, it'll be back to bug fixing and new features.

Will this improve performance? I had to refund due to performance issues, it would get very laggy the longer I played even with reducing draw distance and my machine should have no issues handling it.

Just because a game doesn't update every week or month doesn't mean it's dead.

Not being updated since this was posted I'd say it's as dead as a doornail
gosh, we are far from dead. We have a full time development team working on enormous new features and updates. We have just been working away in the background on both the PC and newly announced console versions.

There is an enormous amount of work being done, which has kept the dev team nose down in their compilers and copies of Maya!

This is great news. Thanks for this information, I too thought this was abandoned because we had not heard from you guys since October 27th and there has been no game update since September 12th.

Approximately when can we expect a game patch / update and information about what the devs have planned for the game besides a tutorial?

Thanks again!

Jane. Would you please let us know when we can expect an update or patch?

Nice to see this game isn't dead, are you able to give us a rough the estimate on when a update will drop?
