yep now, the price on steam has gone to no discount which sucks, I wont buy it from them because no auto updates, and you can't reinstall at a later date if you lose the downloaded files unless you pay an extra $8 which is only good for a year...

I had it in my cart with the sale price and the extra discount and when I scrutinized the differences between prior versions, there just wasn't enough to justify the purchase. As a software product person myself, I've noticed some of the changes they made over the last few versions actually make the software more annoying to use (like they were desperate to make any changes possible to justify a new version). Funny, had version 14 and needed to reinstall and the backups magically no longer functions (maybe it's a sneaky way to get people to pay for their silly extended download service, jk). Went back to version 12 and it actually does everything I need, and more importantly works (withouth the less useful modifications they've made to their software in the last few versions).

Shame .. Very few Comments or anything on their product .. Zero interaction with their steam base... would buy it if they matched there pricing with there steam base....

They let me by install disks when I bought mine. Paying the extra for disks is no bid deal. I didn't get a Steam steal deal. I paid direct and having the disks is a must. Lol.

And this software should not have a steal deal on Steam. It is more than worth the regular price. You are getting full professional software for a home user price.

The point of the original post is that buying direct was/is even cheaper than buying on Steam...definitely not full price.

In fact, all versions of Power Director are more 70% off right now on CyberLink's own site even today (7/15/2017).
