Game won't load

Whenever I try to open to the game, it never loads properly. It sometimes opens to a black screen, with the cursor changing and the music starting to play, but it never actually loads. In more recent attempts, there's sometimes a green flickering rectangle with the cursor and the music. I've literally spent hours trying to figure out what's not working, and about to give up on the game. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ahh oh no! I assume you've done this, but just in case, have you tried verifying the integrity of the game files? (Library > Right click The Shrouded Isle > Properities > Local Files > Verify Integrity).

If that doesn't work, try pressing "B" when the bug happens to send a bug report. If you're not able to do that, you'll have to get the output log manually.

To get the log manually:
1. Run the game and replicate the crash bug.
2. On Steam library list, right click on The Shrouded Isle and go to Properties, and then the Local Files tab.
3. Click on Browse Local Files.
4. Open TheShroudedIsle_Data folder to find output_log.txt
5. Send the output_log.txt to us at [e-mail]

Thanks for your response! I have tried verifying the integrity of the games files, unfortunately that didn't seem to make a difference. I tried sending a bug report, but I can't tell if it went through or not. I've found the output_log.txt, so I'll just send that along now.

I'll have to send my output logs too, because I just bought the game, tried to run it four times and everytime it didnt work... it just says LOADING on the lower right corner, until it crashes... Integrity doesn't make a difference here, too

Soo, I don't know, if it helps anybody. But I fixed it. I changed some settings on launcher's file:
1. Turned on Compatibility Mode for Windows 8
2. Disabled optimisation for fllscreen
3. Setted always launch with admin rights.
I don't know what exactly helped, but it might help spot error in code.

So, I fixed it for sure.
If you found black screen and hearing some music, follow these steps:
1. Delete everything from C:\Users\*User*\AppData\LocalLow\Kitfox Games and logs in game directory
2. Verify Integrity in Steam
3. Set launcher settings like here https://ibb.co/whj1zq6
4. Change in-game setting for lesser screen resolution.
5. Congrats! It should be stable now.
For developers:
During black screen all buttons are active. I can quit game without even seeing it.
If I somehow broken some of rules, I'm deeply sorry. I just wanted to play your game.

I've just managed to get it working. I think it has trouble with the Steam overlay, so try disabling that.
