Is there any run button ingame?
The game feels like slo-mo movie without it

No, there's isn't an input to run.

The pacing(no pun intended) of the game would be way off if there was a run function because the dialogue is location triggered. If you could run you would constantly have the dialogue either getting cut off or overlapping.

Unplayably slow walking speed. It's just way too frustrating to put up with. Glad I got this for free on Epic rather than paying for it.

I figured: no running in the house

It's a great game, but fees like slo-mo

It's not unusual for walking simulators to be this slow. Take, for example, the game that kicked off the genre: Dear Esther. I didn't find either boring at all (though Dear Esther is confusing as hell) because the backgrounds are just stunning. I have 2 playthroughs so far (even more with DE) and I enjoyed it each time. Well, yeah, there are a few places where they get tedious, but normally, it's OK.

I use Cheat Engine: enable speedhack. For Edith Finch I had it set on 1.3 and it was perfect. On Dear Esther I think I had it set at x2 or x3.
Walking simulator or not the ultra slow walking pace gave me a feeling of wasting my time. It's as if someone obliged me to read a book extra slow :)

Look down and you'd realize why Edith is not running.

She climbs quite well though. And hangs a lampshade on it, naturally.

Dropping a thanks for this. Replaying Edith Finch again and your 1.3 speed adjust works great. First time I have ever used it for anything. I found a guide to show you what to do if anyone is interested.
