If I had to use just one word, creepy would suffice.
Don't spoil it with youtube. The best way is to just buy it and do it. I would say it is disturbing in that it's a story of dead family members and how they died.. but it's not done in a distasteful or horror type of way. It's a genious way of telling their stories realistically, right up till the end.
It's really more a movie than a game.
That one scene (plus the fairly morbid overall story) is probably not great for the under 12 crowd. It's great if you're an adult that enjoys a solid story that doesn't require you to do much but walk from room to room (no puzzles or hidden object finding stuff).
I really enjoyed this game as much as Firewatch and Gone Home.
