Joe's Adventures, worth it?
Joe was a really awesome character. The DLC about him has me wondering. So is the DLC worth it?

It's the best of the three story pack adventures, IMO. Joe's Adventures > Jimmy's Vendetta >>>>>>> The Betrayal of Jimmy. However, none of the DLC packs have as many mission cut-scenes as the main story. Most of the missions (even in Joe's Adventures) have a simple graphic with text instructions at the start of each mission, and a mission score tally screen at the end, without any video cut-scene to either set up the mission or deal with any story related consequences after the mission is over. Nevetheless, the few cut-scenes in Joe's Adventures were of higher quality than the other packs, and the overall level of polish in Joe's Adventures was higher than the others packs, too.

The lack of polish in The Betrayal of Jimmy -- first DLC pack, former PS3 exclusive, and now only available in certain Eastern European countries -- and the frequent difficulty spikes throughout its missions was not very impressive. I played all the way through it, but I have no desire to do so ever again. Joe's Adventures, on the other hand, I've played through multiple times.

While i respect your answer Razorbak86; I found Betrayal of Jimmy a more challenging than Vendetta. Totally agree with you about Joe's Adventures being the best, a mix of arcade and story; while the other two are as good as pure arcade with no real story to them.

Oh and i've lost count on how many times i've played the story + all dlc's

Yeah, Betrayal is a lot more challenging than Vendetta because of the lack of polish and the difficulty spikes. Vendetta was more polished and had a more level difficulty curve, so it was a little easier to complete.

Liked Joe´s Adventures most, both, Vendetta and Betrayal suffer imho from the arcade-style.
But they´re all three worth the money ! :D:

Just asking, does Mafia II gets free roam when purchasing the Joe's Adventure DLC?

Free roam? In a sense, yes. You can jump in a car, drive around the city, rob stores, etc. The story, however, is linear. You need to complete certain missions to advance to the next stage. You're not obliged to do these missions consecutively, though. You can start them at your own discretion - they appear as mission markers on your map, you have to drive towards them and activate them to start the mission.

Is Joe's Adventures worth it? Personally, I'd say yes. With a few exceptions, the emphasis here is less on story and cutscenes than is the case with the main story, though. There are a few missions similar to the main story, but most of the missions in Joe's Adventures involve you driving up to a mission marker on the map, clicking it, accepting the mission, completing a timed objective, driving to the safe zone marker, and clicking that to end the mission.

Those mission DLC's feel tend to feel a bit arcade-like and are less immersive than the main story, which is steeped in atmosphere. They're still fun, though.
