Mafia II (Classic)

Mafia II (Classic)

What happened to Joe?
*Spoiler alert if you didnt play the game to the end*

In the ending cutscene of the game, where you kill Falcone, Joe helped you killing him.

Afterwards, when he is killed a cutscene starts.

Vito gets in one car, Joe in another.

The car with Joe inside drives to another direction, while Vito still goes down the mainstreet.

Then Leo says: ''Sorry kid, but he wasn't part of the deal.''

Now who cant remember this, Vito worked for all 2 or 3 families in Empire Bay, killed Derek, Steve, Clemente etc.

They wanted to kill him too, but Leo gave him a chance to survive and told him to kill Falcone.

What happened to Joe? Did they kill him?

Maybe we will know what happened to Joe after Mafia 3 is released - or then not.
He's either dead or basically being told to ditch town. He can't be a part of Vito's life anymore if Vito continues to live the life the way he has been. Joe's basically been making him worried and of course screwing things up for Vito here and there, so the old man probably figured it was the best decision.
Joe was wacked. He was part of the reason all the trouble started.
Vito got a lucky break only because he saved Leo's life.
Until i see him get killed or be told hes dead in Mafia 3 i fully believe he is still alive, Joe could easily handle the guys in the car.

Final cutscene show us, joining mafia is a bad business. Now, Vito take Joes place. At the end of Mafia III he´ll know what happend to Joe.

But, Vito still have his weapons. Maybe he kill all, free Joe and they restart again.

No, Vito dont have balls. That´s why, we won´t see Vito in Mafia III.

Maybe Joe free himself.

In Mafia III i want to play Joe :-)

I really don't want to see Joe again in Mafia III. We already had him in one game, I don't want him in the game again. But there could be like a mission where you have to kill him just like Tom from Mafia I.

I would love to see this scene:

''Mr. Scalleta?''
''Ugh, yes?''
''Mr. Falcone sends his regards.''

He's dead and I am sad... saddest game ending I've ever seen, Joe actually felt like a friend. ):

Vito brought in a rat, sold drugs, started a gang war and had the government breathing down the Mafia's neck. Joe got wacked for the Chinese incident and Vito didn't last that much longer.

Sad but one of the best endings in a video game. Along with The Walking Dead. :Original_Assassin:

I agree that the bittersweet ending was pulled off nicely, but unfortunately I can't say the same for the events leading up to it. As far as I'm concerned, anyway.

I don't really mind the turn of events in and of itself, though I'm not exactly a fan of several aspects of it either. It's the way it was presented that was a bit too obvious to my liking.

You just knew ♥♥♥♥ was going to hit the fan, hard, as soon as it started to unfold from chapter 9 onwards. The characters - Vito and Joe - somehow remain completely oblivious to this, to the point where they even refuse to pay any heed to crucial information that's being plainly spelled out to them. This happens more than once, in fact.

To make matters worse, they happily add to the mess, and when Vito complains at the start of the final mission how much of a mess things have become I couldn't help but feel that the entire situation had become slightly absurd.

Neither Vito nor Joe had ever been the sharpest tools in the shed up to that point, but at least they were more or less consistent. After chapter 9 it's almost as if they've taken complete leave of their senses so as to allow the chain of events to unfold the way it did. To me, that felt too much like something of a cringeworthy moral reminder that in the end, crime doesn't pay.
