Mafia II (Classic)

Mafia II (Classic)

Statistiche:
compared to GTA IV?
i am thinking about buying this game, but can somebody tell me how it compares to GTA IV in respects to map size, and the time it takes to complete the entire game? are there side missions? other diversions while in free roam?

Thanks

Game is badass. I would buy this over GTA IV for pc, if i were you.
Gte gta iv man no way this bettter then that bro noo way
I'll try to compare the games, instead of going all "bro this is the ♥♥♥♥" like everyone else has.

When it comes to story mafia 2 does a way better job IMO, you actually care about more characters than just one here(Unlike just Roman in GTA IV) and the missions are more innovative and not very repetitive.

Mafia 2 has better graphics unless you use the iCE enhancer for GTA IV. The gunplay is better in mafia 2, but has more restrictions and doesn't let you do things such as drive boats, fly helicopters, and parachute. Mafia 2 is a bit more realistic(which is both good and bad).

GTA IV has a strong multiplayer component and a lot of mods while Mafia 2 has no multiplayer, and not very many interesting mods at all.

In mafia 2 all you really got is a really good 12 hour story, but there's not much to do in the world besides that, but both games will still get your moneys worth.
I loved Mafia 2. The story, as Walrus said, is nice. But what really made me like it is the retro ambience. I just think the story is good in GTA IV too. If Roman is annoying, the protagonist is what I liked a lot. Just the DLC of Mafia 2 is not worth a nickle, opposite to GTA IV.

A good game, but very different, as already pointed. If you really want a GTA substitute, you should really consider Saints Row: The Third. This game is really similar to GTA IV (arcade-ish gameplay, freeeee roaming, even the map has 3 main islands...) Saints Row seems vulgar, but the acting (specialy female 2 with it's western european acent - probably a tribute to Nico Belic) make the characters more noble, likable and real than most sociopathic good boys in games like Far Cry 3 (terrible) and Driver.

Excuse my Engrish.
Buy JUST CAUSE 2 FIRST LOL
Mafia 2 has a smaller story line compared to GTA4 and no multiplayer options but isnt lacking in any other area compared. mafia 2 graphics are great. obviously the time frames are different so the back drop is very different. Both are free world but u cant activate side missions in mafia2 by wondering around due to none available. the missions will take u anywhere from a few hours to a few days pending ur skill and difficulty settings. you can take cars to the docks or car crusher for more money when ur low. police will try to pull u over for speeding and hit and runs in mafia 2. if u stop for speeding u will be issued a fine, if u run for it they will chase and increase ur wanted level. the map size is close to the large island in gta4 with similar gun shops, clothing stores, and garages spread out on the map. there is also a hunt for playboy magazines and wanted posters spread across the game. from owning all gta's and both mafia games you wont regret buying mafia 2.

wait till the sales and then buy them both for the price of one nuff said
never buy full price games on steam add the ones you like to your wishlist then play the waiting game
It's not as big as GTA IV, but the time to complete is relatively the same...I wish there was more development/progression of NPCs other than your best friend, but the atmosphere, true mob like feel(no missions have an over the top, not realistic, feel, save for the final mission), and the cars are all spectacular. They outdid themselves on the graphics as well, and the end makes you want to join them in the making of a potential Mafia III...nuff said for me
Mafia 2 has interesting story, far better graphics, better controls. You can freeroam during missions and search for wanted posters sell cars or rob shops. Definitely get Deluxe version with best car in the game. DLCs have arcade missions with leaderboards and city quarters normally inaccessible in main game.
I think they are both as good and both do have side missions.
so true maffia is awsome specially i hope when maffia 3 comes out i hope it will be bigger anyway i am busy to get all the last stuff out of it buying soon 2 expansions and then i play them also i like maffia because it got a good story and living world i mean it goes from time to time its awsome
