Game not launching? Here's the fix!

Hello gamers. If you're having trouble getting your game launched like I did, go to your windows button ---> control panel ---> programs ---> uninstall a program and then uninstall Nvidia PhysX. If you use an AMD card just simply delete your current driver and it should work. Don't take my word on this though since I don't use AMD. I would google it. Cheers!

Hey Frillin, what kind of trouble did you have trying to launch mafia2? any particular error message or just a non responsive issue. the trouble i am having is on the first time setup, it installs DX and the other components just fine, then it says preparing to launch mafia 2, then it says " installing: windows? installer (step 1 of 1)" and thats when it just keeps looping endlessly and never launches the game. Did you have that issue? or something very similar?

im have a total different problem the loading doesnt complete itself it took 2 hours and it still wasnt done

Yes that's the exact same problem I had. Just uninstall Your PhysX and it'll work just fine. Just that's still too vague for me. Is your computer just simply downloading it slow or did it stop completely?

frillin i uninstalled it now it crashes in the second mission

Well I've had one odd crash so far. But I've only played a little so the only thing I can tell you to do right now is to verify your files. Do you know how to do that?

To verify your files right click on the game and go to properties, local files and hit verify integrity of game cache. It'll scan the files and make sure you have all of them. And there is a way to change your computer to high performance from your desktop but I forgot how. I have a button that shifts through different modes so I don't bother with it.

As for settings....if you have an Nvidia graphics card you can always use GeForce Experience. It gathers your PC specs and what games you own and optimizes them for you so you can have the smoothest experience. Otherwise I would just start on the lowest possible settings first and slowly work your way up.

my proble is that when i click the game it says prepering game to launch and hten nothing in tried your method and then unninstaling graphical drivers nothing worked any help ?

it wouldn't start for me too, I fixed it by manually installing the support programs (physX and directX) from the files of mafia 2
