PhysX SDK not initialized. PhysX System Software will be installed? Wtf.

So, i just bought the game for some nostalgia. But as soon as i try to launch the game I get the error as stated in the title. Is there really no fix for this? I've seen people talking about updating drivers - Already did that, still no fix.

I've tried everything i've seen on the forum. Is there really no way to fix this?

I'd like to confirm another fix, one that I personally consider safer and smarter than uinstalling a program that many other games require and just leaving it be.

If you uninstall PhysX and then reinstall it directly from the Nvidia website then you can run the game.

Since sometimes I find the game wont reinstall PhysX unless you reinstall the game itself, this saved me some time. (Especially since I couldn't find the installers in the steam files.)

i havent updated my drivers in like 4 months. i think my nvidia experience got uninstalled or something.

most problems like this are solved by repairing or reinstalling.

with video card drivers you want to look into tools that completely remove all traces for when you are reinstalling. Lots of major programs do this (antivirus for one) because they think saved preferences is super important to the end user but it does more harm than good.

Unistalling all physx after launching mafia 2 is a nessesity but there is no need to let it install physx later on. instead, just install the newest one from nvidia site. It has the potencial to give you better framerates than the old physx from 2010.

What if you have an AMD graphics card such as the RX580 is there anyway I could run the game I used to be able to because I had a nvidia Graphics card.

I would try and uninstall your physx driver if you haven't done that after going over to AMD and try and launch the game

I can't play the game because I don't have the PhsyX driver which does not work for my graphics card so if I do install it my graphics will not function properly plus the PhysX driver will disable itself as soon as it detects an AMD graphics card which means I basically at a dead end unless there is a way to tackle the dead end

*PROBLEM SOLVED* Hi mate, I had the same problem. I then went to the steam forum to find a fix. What I did was just go into control panel, remove my current PhysX driver, and then launch the game. Then it would just reinstall it for me, and the game launched. If that doesn't work, try removing it again, and go to Nvidias website to download another PhysX driver. Hope this helps, CHEERS!

This is what I did I went to the nvidia website and typed in physic for mafia 2 and just downloaded it and it worked I’ll try to make a video on it
