I can't move my mouse!

Just started up the game and the mouse cursor just sits in the middle of the screen. I am not able to click or move the mouse. I also got into the game and i can't look around or aim or shoot. Help would be great!

Close Steam from the main menu (Steam > Exit), and then re-start and force an update (Steam > Check for Steam Client Updates), if necessary. This is a pretty common problem on the GTA IV and Mafia II forums in the last few weeks, and the suggested fix usually works.

Wireless mouse? I just had this issue myself and though my mouse worked perfect in the in windows, i guess it didn't have enough battery to work in the game. Change batteries fixed it for me.

Turn your mouse sensitivity down to 0. this worked for me

This^ - I had to do this same thing a couple of weeks ago. Just by chance I had checked file integrity and it updated some files. Afterwards, my mouse was working ingame.

Exiting steam and then running again fixed the problem, looks like this problem arise if you have a wireless mouse or if you put your computer to sleep and then play again after waking it up
