!GAME NOT LAUNCHING!

Hello, I have installed this game after few years, and I just cannot launch it.

When I try to launch, the play button turn blue ( as it should), but instead of turning on, it says ''updating executables'' and then it shuts off, It wont even let me into the game, I just stare at the steam page.

I have PhysiX 9 installed.
Yes I tried reinstalling PhysiX 9.

PC specs: RTX 3060 / Ryzen 5 3600 / 32gb RAM

Try launching the game directly from the mafia.exe file in the installation folder.

Hi, I have the same problem. I tried what the person above said about "try to open it from the folder", it didn't work. I already reinstalled, checked the files and I don't know what to do anymore...

Here is what I did, I opened the properties of Mafia2.exe, I set the compatibility mode to Win 7 and open as Administrator. I then fired up the game but it wouldn't start again. I then opened the properties of Mafia2.exe and removed the compatibility mode setting and the open as Administrator setting, double clicked the Mafia2.exe and the damn game opened just fine! Now I can open the game from Steam no problem. I hope that this helps someone.

When doing the above, be sure to use the Mafia2.exe file and NOT the Launcher.exe file.
