10000 Hook Long Lines
Is there even a point - I got one and rigged it for Cod.. then proceed to haul in about 170 tons of Cod on the single line, with the boat only able to hold 20 tons... are went meant to be getting another long-liner boat with a massive hold?

Yeah I was wondering the same I am running Cathrin fully upgraded one 2000 hook line fills it to the point we are throwing fish back. I would like to see a boat with at 75000 to 100000 hold just to long line. I could probably fill it with a 5000 hook line.

This is an issue and they are aware of it. They are trying to get game breaking bugs fixed ASAP then they will go back and adjust numbers like that.

The 5000 and 10000 hook lines are currently useless.

To put a theory out there -- 'what if you were extremely uncoordinated?' Let's pretend you could only get a couple of the fish off the line during the minigame. In that scenario, a longer-longline would yeild less... perhaps even around 20t instead of 140. Same case with a worker hauling who has poor skills.

Just a theory :)

i believe failing at th eminigame damages the longline an results in fewer large weight fish...catch remains the same total

You've got to have some serious problems if you can't catch with at least an "OK" score each time.

PS! A 500 line about fills a fully upgraded Børge if you get it perfect.

Looks like they nerfed the amount of fish you get considerably in v1.0.6 so the longer lines might be useful now.

Ahh very good will have to check that out!

Thank you! I did not see that on the list.

I'm not getting the 15 per line I usually did before as often. A lot more 11 or around there so it is harder to get the big catches. I used to pretty much fill the second ship "Sjarken" fully upgraded (10t) using a 500 hook line before, but now it seem I'll have to use the 1000 line.

The colored blobs on the map showing where the fish is are considerably smaller.

Ahh very interesting. Like I said before I didnt see anything in the patch notes about that but maybe they are working on treaking that behind the scenes.

Good to hear. Thank you sir.

After a bunch of experience with crew hauling longlines, I can say with confidence that they miss A LOT (when skill levels are low, say 5 or 6). I've just upgraded to the Vibeke so we shall see if the big boy lines fill up the cargo hold when my crewmate (now lvl 7) hauls in.

A quick FYI: a low skill longline hauler seems to 'Miss' upwards of 80% of fish.

Holy cow! Thanks for the info. Will have to keep and eye on that. Throw them overboard if he goes missing 80%.

Yep, but you can haul the line yourself on Vibeke Cathrin (VC), if you want to.

Sander got a skill of 6 now and a 2000 line only got me a bit less than 10t.
So basically the 10k lines are still pointless. He filled the 20t of VC easy with a 5k line.
Once you get the skills up the 2k lines will be plenty.

I do wonder though... it seems like all lines have the same amount of catches on the line regardless of line hooks. So I guess a lot of 250 lines might help level the skill faster?

I don't think I would say nerf. Perhaps it's been lowered somewhat. However, prior to 1.0.6 a 2,000m line would fill my fully upgraded cargo on the 3rd ship. That is still the case post 1.0.7.

Have any of you ever seen a skill increase for net- or line-hauling for a worker? If getting xp is a hourly thing then hauling for 20 minutes at a time doesn't do much, but still after dozens of lines, no skill-increase for the worker.
