Open ocean ?? no deep water !!

I enter the open ocean and all i can get is 150m depth of water and cant fish with the hermes any help pls ??

When you enter the open sea area are you clicking on the "open water" icon on the right of the screen ? Its looks very similar to the icon when you want to dock your ship at the end of a trip. Its only once you click that will you enter open seas. hope this helps.

Keep trawling around, there's deeper spots in the Open Osean arena. You gotta look around for it. I usually find it in the center of the area, or somewhat to the East.

No need for sonar here. Everytime I go to open sea (klick the icon) I get depth at ~200 depending which trawler I use. Lunar bow is a pelagic trawler, it fishes in deep water and hermes is a ground net trawler, it fishes in shallow regions (150+).

lol yeah max depth is 200m in the hermes for me an the only way to get fish in the bag is let out line too 250 an set max speed an go round an round in cricles. if i dont i can sit there for hours an not 1 fish even when the scanmar says good fish "red an yello screen"

That's not the behaviour of the hermes I experienced. I never had to run in circles and I always get some fish. Normally between 40-60 % of net capacity. Could be an issue elsewhere. Have you tried to reset the configuration by deleting the FBS-folder contents EXCEPT the savefolder?

Also, sometimes (i don't know why) it seems to solve problems if you switch to another vessel and then back.

i do find it thats its rlly shallow in the open water some times like im trwaling then then suddently OH ♥♥♥♥ and im like 1m over the botom of the ocean

My trawling with Hermes is broken. Even I get red screen on Scanner, with perfect trawl symmetry, I don’t get any single fish in my net. So far no issue with Lunar Bow.

and the depth of the doors is below 150m?

I don’t use the depth of the door as a benchmark. I looking at the depth of the entry of the entry of the trawler. Usually between 90 to 130 meter. Had no issue few patches ago.

@Lomic6, it need to be over 150 metres before getting any fish so i would suggest to use the depth sensor as well ..

tbh what i do is just set out the trwal and just go forwords and wait while i eat some food and watch youtube
