Depth of doors compared to length of net out
Im often reaching 200m of length just to get about 50m of door depth. Is this right? 210m right now with 58 m per door depth. This often becomes a problem as the more i trawl the closer to 50m the doors get and more likely i will lose the ability to catch fish as it passed under 50m depth...trawl speed or the small control that is supposed to change the door positions dont seem to do anything. Infact the small lever opperated by arrow keys looks totally bugged and im not convinced it does anything. Also still feels like total lack of control over moving the net in the scanmar forward sonar view, and the ropes "ping" every once in a while and it totally resets the view? Any advice welcomed

220m now with 51m,55m on doors....they slowly get closer to not being able to recieve fish. Putting out more line length doesnt add door depth? maybe its because the net is filling slowly and changes shape? 1 in 5 roughly gets above 40% too, wasting time trying to fill the net when its way quicker just to re haul and set for another 2min 40%?

This problem is even worse on the Hermes?! litterally as soon as i stop the length going out the doors start to raise up, making it seem to be impossible to keep doors at 150+ without constantly letting out line length? Length maxes at 500m, doors at 147 and 143....? how to make them stay low?

slower you go the deeper the doors will go line out will let the doors go even deeper
but when you start to get a fuller net the doors will sink bythem self in wich you need more speed or bring back your main lines in hope this helps you

Thats the Lunar Bow? Looks like similar numbers but you are trawling at 3knts, the tutorial said 4 so i can try slower. After you trawl for a while do you not encounter the door gradually raising? Eventually they always seem to get higher for me and require even more line out...which you will run out of eventually. Does turning effect this? Ive been a few times over 300m line out and doors wont go over 50m....

The hermes requires 150+ m on the doors though? The 1.1 patch added requirements for the trawlers, 50m deep for LB and 150+ for hermes. With 500m line out (which is max) and doors are sitting at 145m avg with 3knts? cant go slower for trawling or let the lines out anymore...The doors only seem to get below 150 for a small period of time and then any forward motion on the ship raises them. ( can only maintain 150+ by having line length increasing )

lol it was a lie trawled for an 11/2 hrs yesterday in it and nothing set the net this moring went to make coffie came back the main line was at 230m and was getting fish

yes turning does if you turn to fast the net wont pick up fish anymore as for me i just keep going stright for me in the hermes i try not to go over 3kts and about 5kts in LB depending on how full the net is

Well you have similar numbers for the lunar bow, 210m of length for 50m depth seems like alot, but its atleast maintanable. I think its turning that moves them even higher/lower on oneside as you said. (i made a turn to avoid the ice so would explain why i struggled to get the doors to sink.) Slowing does indeed aid this.

The hermes however is really struggling to maintain 150m+ depth even in a straight line at even the lowest throttle setting and max line length...

Thats minimum throttle possible and after just few mins the doors have gone up past 150, and there is no way to get them back other then stopping! cant be right? Jus trying to work out if im doing somethin wrong lol.

the door will always be higher then the net unless you are going max speed and even then it will still be lower unless the main line is realy short

i have the same problem on the herms nets keep floating up regardless of speed
Me too. I can effect change on the doors when changing speed or warp length, but then they just slowly rise up. Be nice if you could have more control over them. :/

they have really screwed up trawling in this game ..doesnt matter how slow you go the net still rises about the doors

looks like your doors are under ground thats why your net is above them this used to happen before they fixed it guess they need to do it again

Have the same door drift Hermes bug.
I found it best to stop engines, let the lines out all the way, let the doors sink to the bottom, then proceed at a whopping 0.6 kts.
Anythng faster than that and the doors will rise above the 150m limit for fish.

Trawling needs to be seriously looked at......again. As speed vs. depth is way off in both boats.

The Luna isnt too bad, but in the Hermes, there is no way possible to turn or steer the net going that slow and it simply becomes a go make coffee or do my nails waiting game while the net slowly drags fish.

I would be happy if it didnt crash every ten mins

Are you in the Hermes? i noticed on your screen shot in your thread that you have more storage and are trying to sell more fish than its possible for the Hermes to carry now? max storage is only 400000kgs now.
