There are no buyers?
I don't think that has been implemented yet in the game.. I would imagine that once they add AI NPC ships and other fishermen in the sea, selling an old boat would be a thing...
I'm not keen on the "ol' Grandads boat" thing, it is a overused trope in many "start your own business" sims and is just plain annoying in my mind. But, sticking within that lore, the Borge should not be able to be sold, so you always have a ship to fall back on.
Other vessels however, should be able to be traded in when you purchase the next level craft. On the flip side, I would like to be able to buy multiples of the same vessel. As long as you can get it crewed and cover costs I can't see why you can't have a little fleet going on.
Obviously, that requires AI, but it would be fun to have the ETS/ATS vibe going on.
Purely for the sake of immersion. I heard the guys on the dock saying that Rick wanted to captain his own fishing boat.
It seems that he made considerable income while working for me in open waters. I guess he would prefer the bridge than being out in the cold on deck.
Personaly I wish him well, and to help him get started Ill sell him Gpa's old ship..
;)
yes

YES
Keeping the Børge/Borge as a safty works great.
And be able to have a fleet, would take the game to another lvl of fun.
