The perfect trawl setup

This morning I set about trying to set the supposed perfect net setup as displayed in the forward cabins symetry window here:

And i got that from setting my net as follows:

It's a shame i cant have all the displays I want on my scanmar at the same time.


Now, i'm not saying that this will net you the best trawl, merely that according to the instruments we are provided on the lunar bow that this is the supposed perfect setup.

Looks good. What do you use the information from the FLW(kn) screen for? I don't really understand what that is telling me and what I should be doing with that info.

well, i was going with what other folks had had up but found really no use for the flow display. I did figure out though that the scanmar limits you to a choice of 8 displays at any given time regardless of the combination/pane you place the items into.

Also, if you can get your symetry near perfect on the pentagon display, your opening in the HOC will be maximum and the clearance value C should be near zero.

my current choice for displays are warp line length, door depth, catch, sonar, nav, and HOC. I'd like to have tension up maybe and it would be ncie to have the pentagon display from the front cabin available in the scanmar.

How do you get your pentagon to turn green? I have had mine shaped at least as well as the one in your picture but it still shows as orange.

i haven't played in a few weeks cuz I was getting annoyed at trawling in general. no skill involved and was simply a matter of set the trawl and go afk for 20-30 min

yeah, until there's real control and you can steer and hit the schools I dont see a point. of course, folks will come on here and insist you can do it, but they are in fact wrong or lying.

pretty much if you try to steer into them it just move away go stright its hit and miss i have been playing for 5 hr and only a 1/4 full on the lunar bow

My problem isn't just a lack of control, but a lack of any idea what to do. I have had times where I would swear I was in the middle of a school of fish, and according to the HOC I am getting nothing. Then, at other times all I see is open blue water and the catch gauge is shooting up like holding a match under a thermometer. I am catching fish and making money --- just don't know why :)

Nope, on the Hermes. I skipped the Lunar Bow because when I had the money it was already November and mackerel were out of season.

known about the sensor since they went in. and the control is non-existant basically. trawling is still a set and forget experience.
