Trawling

Before newest patch i was catching mor mackeral than pollock. Now only pollock.
If I try to turn the boat to chase schools of fish my trawl doors depth will differ by up to 60m and never level out, even if I pull them in and let them back out, without actually hauling.
This game is getting boring. It's to the point where I sell the trawl and walk away, come back in 20 min to see what I caught

What is the date in your game? I am in November and according to the events page of my log book, there are no more mackeral until next May.

I'm in May, and only catching Pollack in the Hermes... I'm wondering if I shouldn't switch back to the Lunar Bow and go catch some Mackrel???

I knew that mackerel would be out of season in November, so I skipped the Lunar Bow and went right to the Hermes. According to the in game WIKI redfish are available ONLY from August to December, but it says cod fishing is BEST from September to February and haddock is BEST from August to February. I am kind of surprised you are not getting at least some Cod and Haddock in May, but since Mackerel seems to be th highest priced fish, and you can catch it in the Lunar Bow without the hassle of freezing and stacking, I would definitely move to the Lunar Bow in May.

I really wanted to get the Hermes up and running and by the time I could afford it, it was the end of February. So, I've been training my new crew fishing for Pollack since there's nothing left to upgrade to... well, yet I should say... ;) I did advance time to get from February to May thinking the Hermes could catch Mackrel, but apparently that isn't the case...

I really like fishing with the Hermes compared to the Lunar Bow... But if there is a new boat coming out in a DLC for crab fishing or maybe just upgrades that might cost a bundle... it might be a good idea to fish my quota of Mackrel before this happens...

Personally I kind of dread going to the Lunar Bow. One of my favorite tools on the Hermes is the Semmetry screen. In the Hermes I just need to stand up from the net control chair and I can see the Semmetry scteen from across the room. From the videos I have seen there is a wall blocking the view on the Lunar Bow, which means you have to walk all the way up to the pilots chair every time you want to check the screen. On the other hand, not having to freeze and stack means you can get way more loads in the same time.
