Lunar Bow/ Hermes (SOLVED)
Okey....Where to begin....

The Lunar Bow is a Pelagic Trawler, meaning its meant to trawl in the upper parts of the water or just below the surface in other words.
And this part is allright on my end, i get lots of Pollock with the Lunar Bow.

....But !!!

The Hermes....

Now this is another discussion entierly. Hermes is a Bottom Trawler, meaning it drags the Trawl on...yes..on the seabed, at least thats what it is supposed to do.
But, every where i go when in open sea, the seabed is just over 1000 meters down. This is so confusing. Cause i want to catch Redfish, Haddock, Cod as i cannot catch anymore pollock cause the Hermes has only 1,6 mil annual quota and i am at 3,3 mil with the Lunar Bow which as a 6 mil annual quota. Which also is pathetic, why does the Hermes only have 1,6 mil....oh well :s

How on earth do i catch anyother fish then pollock with the Hermes ?
Is it season based ? , am i not deep enough ? Is the sea too deep to trawl at 1000 meter depth ?
.....What ??

I pulled the lines out last night to well over 300. depth of the headline i believe (DP#3) showed me it was at 490 meters. In the HOC display the ( C ) which from what i read is the clearance to the seabed was at 680-720 meters. Which to me indicates i am not deep enough to the seabed at all.

The stupid thing is that long before the (DP#3) reach 490 meter depth my net is full like, 60+%
drag it back up and empty the bag, what do i get ? 40-50--100k Pollock <(-_-)>

There is something cruicially wrong i do when trawling with Hermes or something crucially wrong with the ship and its intended trawl cause i get only Pollock, never EVER seen any other fish. This is ridiculously annoying....especially when cod prices are up 35%

Is there anyone who had figured out this thing ? Cause i cant.

Oh i hear you! i seem to get them damned pollock when i first set my nets i found if the HOC says 7-9 with yellow or red coloured fish.... you got yourself pollock and some haddock... you need more 2-3 blue fish... if i can fill my nets with just getting the blue fish i never see pollock or haddock in the haul.

The number and the fish color dosnt tell which fish you get, its the rate of fish entering your net. Or at least thats what i says in-game.

But yeah, this whole Hermes trawling seems broken.

yes but 100t of cod is a lot less fish than 100t of pollock do you see my logic? you want the cod! and its faster to proccess.

tbh i dont go fishing with the hermes atm. just taking the lunar for this sesion / year because most of the time you get pollack on hermes or redfish and both of my quotas are already full so 80% of the catches is going to be deleted anyways...

and lunar is faster + cheaper fuel + larger storage

Think i might have figured it out........Looks like it could be season based. am gonna check and come back later with my resuilt.

Allright, So all indicates that it is season based. In the Wiki in-game under fish it says which time of the year each type is best caught. Go trawl wiith your Hermes in the autumn/early winter =)
