What on earth is going on?

I'm just starting out and getting destroyed by the same 4 wolf cluster over and over again.Before that, vergil says something about an easier way of getting to shrouded hills and the map but I have no idea what he's trying to get at.

The wolves you've fought before were Ailing Wolves, very weak. If you try to leave through the stone pass, you're going to encounter actual wolves, which are much stronger. Usually best not to travel that way.

Virgil was talking about the world map. Look at your icons at the top of the screen. One of the icons is a globe. When it's blue, you can click it to get to the world map screen. From there you can set waypoints. Once you've set at least one waypoint, click the big button to start traveling.

the best start for the game is to pick the spell harm and go into the summoning magic branch until orge. The orge is lvl 30 and you can have that at like lvl 5, pretty much wrecks anything and makes it easy to do whatever you want, you can have two out at a time. Plus put charisma up to 9 and you can pick the orge up from the bar as a follower in shrouded hills.
