I'll try tinkering with dgVoodoo options for better performance.

UPDATE: As it's a DirectDraw game the performance is a lot better at lower resolutions, lowering it to 1280x720 from 1920x1080 helped a lot. Your mileage may vary on different hardware. Just ignore the 1080p screenshot above :P
UPDATE 2: As suggested elsewhere, removing or renaming DDraw.dll (including the one from dgVoodoo) greatly improves game performance. So you can simply disable it during gameplay (by renaming or moving it), and enable it just before taking screenshots instead of keeping it on 24/7. Not ideal, but this is the only way until we have a permanent solution.
But as I said above, this is just a band aid "fix" to take screenshots, the .dlls really ruin the performance, and cause crazy artifacts. I strongly suggest renaming DDraw.dll when you don't need to take screenshots.
