Tarant doesn't appear on map

So I got rid of the bandits at the bridge in Shrouded Hills - told the cowardly sheriff and he told me he would mark where Tarant was on my map. So I left across the bridge - ran into the hostile gnome and killed him - but when I go to the map - Tarant isn't marked and I have absolutely no idea where to go. When I look at walkthroughs and other questions - it says the sheriff will mark Tarant on the map for you - but it doesn't show up. How am I supposed to find it then?

Worse case you go there manually after looking up it's position on the internet.

However I'm pretty sure other people will mark the map for you, but you'll have to look up who as I don't remember.

did you spooke to the guy named "ristezze" in shrouded hills? he will give you a quest:
deliver the camera or beesie toone boots to him and he will mark tarant for you
