change resolution?

how? can't find settings for it and it makes my desktop and 2nd monitors resolution go all screwy when I open the game.

I used the said patch and chose 1920x1080. The graphics came out ok, but it's centered and there's a black margin to the left and right sides. Is that supposed to happen? Can't it go full screen? (Or did I do something wrong in the DOS installation menu?)

I have black margins too, but only in main menu, the game is widescreen for me. I try 4 16:9 resolutions, I'm using 1600x900 finally, and the smaller margins were in 1280x720, but as I'm using a spanish translation, unofficial patches, video translation, etc, I thought that is enough "good" in my installation.

However, I just see some player's screenshots, here in Steam, widescreen images by russian guys, and the menus are widescreen too with "wood margins" that i not remember even in the main resolution of the game... I'm going to ask them.

I tried uninstalling the Widescreen Mod (I used 1920x1080) to see if the original 800x600 would make it fullscreen. It didn't. The game is still centered, except it's a box in the middle and there are still huge black spaces to the left and right of the screen. I want the game screen to fill the entire screen if possible. LOL

(UPDATE)

I FINALLY got it to go full screen in-game. It was my laptop's display settings. It was originally set to "Maintain Display Scaling". I switched it to "Maintain Aspect Ratio" (the option "Scale Full Screen" also works). The main menu is still a centered box in the middle of the screen with huge black bars to the sides (crappy!), but in-game, it's already 1920x1080 and full-screen. Yey!

What is the "dos program" ?

The dos shell that windows uses to simulate DOS for us old timers.. there is another file that does the same thing, but you manually edit the config file.. if you are worried about using an .exe running the .exe file will put you into the dos shell.. then it works kinda like an old school dos program..



BTW: it will look messed up an crappy in the main menu.. an the movies will be screwy too.. just ' pick a charcter ' .. jump in.. slam through the first dialog.. an see how it looks.. dont let the first menu screw you up, an think it didnt work right =)
