I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Simple, Brain left on the shelf old skool shooter, but wickedly addictive. Go for it its a no brainer literally.

Strong candidate for most Metal game on Steam. Very fun and simple. Super hard. Brutal.

I'm conflicted on this game because although I really enjoy the mechanics and decisions you have to make, I always feel a hesitance to go again because of the random boss order, and the relatively long, unskippable cutscenes that play at the start of every boss spawn.

At least in the early game, there's always the options of going for different weapon upgrades in different orders like fire, wall, and f-off shots. It's a little annoying that you need to spend about 30 seconds every time to get these, but I can't see any way of changing this other than a upgrade selection at the start of every run (but then you lose out on the feeling of gradually powering up your character, which I don't think is worth losing). As nice as this is, the random boss type that will spawn makes it so getting the f-off shot or fire is best since aside from the bird boss that charges the wall, wallie isn't useful for quickly killing bosses, or even the shield enemies.
The random boss spawns also detract from chasing high scores since at the start and end (where three bosses will spawn at once), luck will play a huge role in how far you get since most players will have every shot upgrade by the end. The cutscene that zooms in on every boss also seems pointless since they all have unique sound queues that let you know which one spawned in regardless if you can see them or not. This might have been a necessity since the music, sound effects, screen shake, and particle effects make it hard to tell what's what from so much overlap, but it still doesn't feel worth it considering how much it slows down an otherwise rapid gameplay loop.

Overall, even though this high energy and cheesy twin shooter was a pleasant surprise starting out, it doesn't hold up over long play sessions or attempting for high scores. The random elements create a feeling of unfairness in the leaderboards that would be okay if the rest of the experience was intrinsically enjoyable, but Tormentor X Punisher falls just short of that rare achievement with the forced cutscenes that halt the utterly insane gameplay. I think it is worth checking out if for no other reason than having every upgrade at once feels amazing, but if you're looking for a game worth chasing high scores on, f-off to somewhere else.

this game is like a flash game but it's still good. for two dollars more you could get psychonauts though so why bother really....

Terrific game. I highly recommend looking at a community guide if you're not a heavy masochist. You need to at least be a light masochist to play this game, though, regardless of whether or not you look at a guide.

Simply summarized as arcade fun. Loud in every sense of the word.

Honestly this game rules for what it is! A frustrating and difficult go, that allows you to go for high scores. I streamed it weekly for months trying to set higher scores and in the process met one of the creators and he was a really awesome guy too! I gift this game to all my friends who get a PC and if you're looking for a way to mindlessly kill some time, there aren't many better!

Truly an experience worth it's price if youre looking for something to pass the time while killing the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything and racking highscores.
