[Bug?] Controller Issue

Hi, when i start the game, it locks player 1 to kb+m, with player 2 locking to controller. Says gamepad required, even though I have one plugged in. Everything looks ok on my end, so I was wondering if this is a bug or what? Thanks, in advance, for any advice.

Never had this before or after, do with dozens of titles i assume its something really weird.

I went into your game directory, theres a gamecontrollerdb.txt in which i did not find the wireless adapter or xbox one elite controller. As i said i tried a 360 controller, but maybe this is related somehow anyway? Your welcome.

Now get this fixed please. Big Gonner, Big Raw Fury fan. Dont disappoint me and put some hate or muscle into this thing. Jeez.

Hey ya!

That's really weird, all the controllers (except for madcatz as I don't have one) work fine on all of my various computers (various windows laptops and desktops including two different macs too, with windows partitions aswell) and all the computers I've had access to try on :o don't get me wrong, we are interested in finding a cure for this but it's really hard to see where the issue lies and whether it is in our end or not, it totally could be as making games isn't a very trivial matter and we might have simply missed something but as mentioned, not sure what and where and are looking into it :)

EDIT: Ah if the game starts default with two players, it sounds like there's a controller activating two player mode repeatedly? I know you said you tried different combinations, have you tried unplugging all the controllers and seeing if the game starts in two player mode then with mouse and keyboard? :o the game shouldn't be able to start in two player mode without a controller plugged in!

Ah, maybe i misspoke. Its not starting in two player, but someone suggested to change the second player controls to be able to change first player controls. It actually says "gamepad required" even if i have 2 controllers hooked up. Im not a dev, so i dont know what i could check but is there some sort of log i can pull out of the system where you can check if the game is hooking correctly into the availbility of the controller?

As you said, its plenty weird. Im a gamer for years and years and this particular issue os freaky because i never experienced it with anything else.

Hey ya Kan3da, sorry for the lengthy wait!!

Yeah that does indeed seem like the game is not picking up your controllers for what ever reason, honestly never seen that happen, we're still looking into this when we can (sadly inbetween stuff, as much as we would love to cater Tormentor X Punisher further we need to do other stuff to get money to do so). Not sure if there's any logs but I'll ask and look around and I'll come back if there's anything :) thank you for offering!

The fact that they work with other games and suddenly not here is a clue to go on though :)

UPDATE on the "controllers not working" bug!!

During PAX we had a few computers doing this exact issue, the only thing different was the Windows version to other computers so we're looking into that now, they both had April 2017 windows versions in them and for some reason controllers wouldn't talk with the game, looking into it via that way now! Really odd though.

Yeah it's a weird "one off" thing for sure and not really sure why it's happening, as soon as we can hammer on this issue we will, which sadly means, we haven't had the chance to look into it yet other than speculate that being the problem!

Know your guys are busy and thats it not the best use of your time, but just wanted to let you know Joonas, that i still very much look forward to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do this.

So let me know if by any chance you come upon a solution. On my side just the info that all 3 controllers i tried didnt work on a different (nongaming) laptop that also has Windows 10. Maybe it has something to do how your game "reaches" into the controls?

Again, im not a DEV just used to do a little QA now and then, so heres the FYI. Hope it helps.

Hey ya Kan3da,

Wow that's weird, I've been playing the game with different controllers on different computers too and they all work like they should, except for the Windows 10 April 2017 versions I mentioned earlier, for which I do not know a solution myself but hope we get enough copies sold to have a chance to work more on the game to figure out weird cases like this :/

Sorry for the late answer and sorry for not having any answers here, I bet it is a frustration for sure, it's such a hard thing to figure out especially when it has only been a few computers we've seen it happen on ourselves without time to really tinker into them (setting up for the show then)...

Thank you for your patience and info though, if we ever get to fix this (which I most certainly hope that we do) I will let everyone know here for sure!

Man, this is the most friendly and thoughtful feedback i ever got from a developer on a bug report. Maybe itll work itself out when i upgrade my system. Lets see who of us is first eh? XD

Im actually having the same problem with it only detecting the xbox 360 controller for 2nd player, Im running windows machine and have no problems with my controller with any other game.

after I uninstalled and reinstalled now using the reset to default option fixed it
