The DualShock4 doesn't support Xinput by default, so you need to configure it in the Steam controller configuration interface (for each game individually) in order to use it in most games.

To be able to configure your DS4 in the Steam Controller Configutator you need to open the Big Picture mode, select the cogwheel icon in the upper right (to open the settings), open "Controller settings" and activate "PS4 configuration assistent".

Now (in desptop mode) right click the respective game in your library and click on "Edit Steam Controller Configuration". In the opening window select "Browse Configs" and and simply select the template "Gamepad".
If you like you can make changes to that default config, but so far that's all you need to do to make it working.

Do you know how I can make it work that mouse and keyboard are Player 1 and the controller is Player 2? It always does both on Player 1.
