Awesome! Remastered classics

Among the greatest remasters of all time. The most impressive part to me is the thing that almost no one talks about: the animated brush stroke visuals, and the uncapped frame rate. It's mesmerizing to just stop moving and stare at the world as it breaths in paint. Truly, over a decade and a half later, and Braid still stands in a league of its own.

If you haven't played before, I surely recommend. If you already played it when it was first released, it depends. The commentary thingy is new to me, not just in this game but in any games, so I didn't really find my way around it, although it seems there's a new puzzle added to the game. I came back to collect the stars ^^

All the visual assets were rebuilt from scratch for the Anniversary Edition, and that effort alone is sufficient to justify the purchase-cost of this wonderful classic. Infamously, Braid contains an easter egg that involves an hour’s wait for a very slow event to unfold. When I played the original, I left to go make a sandwich. When I played Anniversary Edition, I was so enraptured by the upgraded “living painting” graphics that I spent that hour just admiring the visual craftsmanship.

The new levels are good—less cohesive than the originals but sometimes delightfully bonkers. The commentary is fine, but by and large I’ve been preferring the podcast edit of the same content.

This was my first playthrough of Braid. I've heard about the game but didn't play it yet, so when the remake came out I figured it's a good opportunity. Everything went great for me, so I would recommend!

Incredible graphical and artistry for an hd remake, simply pressing x shows you the previous version of the game. I have hundreds of hours in the old Braid, and now with even more nuanced art and music I hope to put just as many hours into this one as well. The ample commentary is eye opening and extremely in depth, and the new puzzle pieces were difficult which was a delight!!

I've played and completed Braid many, many times since it was first released. I come back to it once a year or so. This version is worth the purchase even if you've played it as many times as I have. The improvements are subtle but settle in well. The colors are more vivid, the animations more fluid, the soundtrack more fitting. I recommend.

This re-release is perfect for fans of the original game. The improved graphics and sounds are really good. What's special is that it includes many hours of developer commentary where they talk about every aspect of how the game was made, which is very interesting.

The only thing I found misleading was how they said that this release included new levels. I haven't found these new levels. Perhaps they are hidden between the commentary levels. But I was expecting like actual new levels, not just commentary levels. Like an expansion of the original game. But I couldn't find that.
