How does this version of the game compare to the original?
I noticed the graphical improvements as well as the addition of World 7. Any other differences between the original and the Anniversary Edition. I haven't played the original, so I wouldn't know.

So, it's a faithful remaster of the original game? No major changes?

Correct. Better graphics and while I haven't confirmed, I think the in-game music quality and sounds are a higher bitrate, think FLAC or WAV rather than MP3's.

That's nice. I'm glad they didn't change too much other than updating what was needed. Too often when developers try to remake or remaster a game, they make so many changes to the game that it gets ruined and becomes an inferior experience. Thanks for the information, guys.

By the press of a button (default 'X' on keyboard and RS on game-pad) you can switch to the original art; graphics, sound effects and music. It doesn't do the audio upgrade justice that it simply says updated graphics, since they did new did a lot with the audio while being constrained to the fact that they have to match up with old for players to seamlessly switch between old and new.
