It is nothing spectacular, the onboard camera delivers motion sickness as expected. But this product is worth down voting for the Day One DLC abuse... Until this is changed eventually, (I) do not support for cut content "proposed" overcharged.

Not really a simulator, couldn't even really call it a game either lol.

Expection
Being able to go on rides have a bit of fun in first person view, go on bumper cars and go around a park.

Reality
Simple controls to control how fast a ride goes like your the operator and the lights and cheesy sound effects, having to back out to choose a different ride from a menu then get told you can buy a ride to play with ....

Conclusion
You probably could have more fun going on secondlife and finding an amusement park, the physics might be tempermental but still alot more fun than whatever you would call this.

I almost never refund games. I requested a refund on this "game" after less than 10 minutes of run time. As others have said, it's not a simulator, it's not a game and it's little more than a gateway to buying DLC. If this was a flash project on Kongregate or similar site it might be amusing. On Steam it's little more than a "pay to pay" gold farm for the developers. Avoid, no matter the discount.

The base game includes just three rides. From the main menu you can scroll through all the rides, available, but you quickly realise they are all locked and require you to purchase the DLC. You'll quickly ralise after trying the three base game rides, that the DLCs are overpriced.

So, you choose a ride, and load it up. Great, so now what, the screen is littered with buttons in the bottom left corner and top right corner. There's no instructions, no tutorial, nothing. The only button that resembles anything slightly familiar is the top-right most button, which looks like a cog, and as you've probably guessed is the games settings. From here you can alter graphics detail, and exit back to the main menu, oh, and see an advert for the expensive DLC. Nice.

While the controls don't take long to figure out, they're not exactly intuitvley labeled.

The buttons along the bottom expand when clicked. From left to right, there are two or three sliders, these control the speed of the ride, and alter one the motors on the ride. The there are camera views, ride lighting system, lighting effects, special effects (think fireworks, fog), and sound effects.

The buttons on the right control the seat locking mechanism, lift operation (if the ride is one that rises in the air), emergency stop or park (not sure which, it's represented with a P), slow-motion (stopwatch icon), fast forward (probably best used when loading the passengers).

The visuals aren't exceptional, and when the fog is tunred on along with the stobe lights, you can see tearing, and it's not exactly thrilling. The sound effects are equally bad, and worse still, theres no music. How many funfair rides don't have music? Weird.
You get to see the passengers walk to the pay booth, briefly pause (buy their ticket), board the ride (or queue if it's running). Once the ride stops, the passengers just disappear, they don't get off and walk away in the same way they arrived, they just vanish. Why?

There's none of the additional things you might expect to see with a funfair simulation, such as number of passengers loaded, number of available seats, number of passengers queing, length of ride time, money earned, customer saftisfaction. While none of these things might be used in the long run, it's the sort of thing I'd expect from a simulation. How many funfair operators run their rides with one or two passengers, do they try and ensure consistent ride times, sure they do. I guess if I want to immerse myself that step further I'll have to get my own stopwatch out to ensure the punters get the same ride length.

There is no longevity to this either, once you played with it for 30 minutes or so, you've done, that's it, nothing more to see. I can't see what would attract me back.

All in all, this feels like it's still in beta, a sneak preview of the basics, with the rest of the game to come. However, considering how much DLC has been made avaialble (at the time of writing, that's six packs, totalling £28.74), you quickly realise that the only goal for this developer is to bleed the none-sims dry of their hard earned cash. I feel like I've been taken for a ride, but not in the fairground sense.

Funfair Ride Sim 3 is pretty basic, with the store page screenshots mostly being of alternate camera angles to hide just how small the "amusement park" you have to play with is - it is literally just your chosen ride plus a few concession stands in a generic built-up urban area that never changes. You have a few dozen different effects to use on the ride so customers are drawn in faster, such as sound effects and strobe lights. Riders themselves have no impact, there are no earnings from tickets and aside from unlocking the 300 riders achievement you can just run the rides without them aboard if you prefer. The entire game is played with the mouse, no keyboard inputs whatsoever.

Achievement hunters, note here you NEED all of the offered DLC to 100% this title. FRS 3 was one of the first games on Steam to get into the paid achievements movement so many have adopted now. As for the DLC rides, at least half are reskins of the default ones while the rest are very generic rides seen at most fairs. I would not suggest buying this game without its DLC, as it's an easy Complete if you have 10 hours to spare and don't mind an hour of babysitting rider numbers at the start.

A decent time-waster if it can be had for cheap, with the first-person ride views being fairly true to life if a little cramped. I'd suggest spreading your play sessions of FRS 3 out over the course of a month, otherwise you'll tire of it quickly due to somewhat lacking replayability.

There's nothing fun at this "game".

Buy it only if you're ready to burn extra cash on the DLCs (for 100% completion).

The game is incredible unstable. I tried everything just to make it run properly but unfortunately it didn’t work. It just crashed within the first 3 minutes of playing. Bummer.

I would have rather had paid £10.00 GBP or something in that region and had the full game all the rides and not just 3 with the main game and then ask for nearly £30.00 to complete the whole set.
I wish it was done differently I have the whole funfair park and move between rides and not go to the main menu to choose one I think Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is better than this.

"day-one DLC" crap, stay far away from this.

Congrats, FOR ONLY 6$ YOU HAVE BOUGHT THE ABILITY TO PLAY NOT 5, NOT 10, BUT 3, YES ONLY 3 RIDES THAT GE BORING AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES.... BUT WAIT.... THERES MORE! FOR THE VERY HIGH PRICE OF 6$ YOU CAN BUY ANOTHER RIDES... AND ANOTHER.................... AND ABOUT 5 MORE SETS OF 3 RIDES........ seriously though the pricing and dlc here is insane there are rides that are 10x and way higher in number on roblox.... and you could even go to roller coaster tycoon 3 to find a good ride. It is a bit mind boggling to see this poor quality in something that is priced at such an insane amount.
