Adding modded engines to the catalog

Hey people..
There is something that has been seriously bugging me which is that any modded engine will only show up in the catalog as long as there is a kit avaible. The only modded engine that shows up as parts in the catalog is the 4A-GE that JDW made.
Does anybody know how to make modded engines appear in the catalog ?
any help appreciated.

With the use of SLRR Editor you have to add them to engine list of the cars you want to have them, I think most people who use it enables all engines for all cars but Im personally a little more selective.

Thats not my problem.. read again...
Engines do NOT show in the catalog ! its not a matter of dropping them into cars, but rather seeing them in the catalog which would help ! Hence they do show up as kits but there are often alot parts only accessable through catalog which go missing in this version. We either need some community knownledge or the game needs serious fixing asap !!

I haven't tried it, but since I'm confident this is somewhat like 230LE, you need to use Borat's RPK converter, and convert the engine RPK to a 230 one, and then replace it, if it crashes then the engine simply doesn't work, if it loads up then you'll find the engine where you put it (I usually assign the parts bymyself instead of using the automatic part), also when you download engine mods make sure to look for a possible 230RPK file in the download / download links (maybe a 231 :O but I haven't seen anything like that)

EDIT: Oh and don't forget to add the RPK to a car with the SLRR editor after you've converted it

You STILL have to use the editor to assign the engines to the cars. If the engine isnt assigned to a car it wont show up in the catalogue, depending on the way the RPK is written. Some might show up but you wont be able to buy them. Borat does work with 2.3.1 but you need to be careful with it and assign the parts to each category yourself as Axnon has suggested. Even with 2.3.0 RPK's some of the parts dont always show up and Ive actually been able to fix this by running Borat on those cars and making sure I make the assignments myself. Its a little tedious but it works.

Borat gives you the option of moving each part to its catalog assignment manually. Kind of like a cut and paste from one side of the menu to the other.

You drag the ones on the left side to the bits on the right side, which are the catalog, basically if on the left you have something like 2JZ block, you drag that to the i6_block, if it has something like 2JZ_SuperTurbo you drag that to i6_performance (or whatever you want to it's just a way of keeping stuff organized), this assuming you already got borat converter working, of course.

Ive not only played it, Ive also modded it extensively as well as updated many of the older mods to work properly with 2.3.1, and no the engines do NOT always show up in the catalogue even when not assigned. You can take my advice or leave it, I dont really care, but can we please keep the comments constructive?

Im having the same issue with some engine mods. Devils V8 and Devils V6 i was able to get to show up properly in the catalog while I4pack and Dexters V8s only show as kits even though I assigned them to many cars in slrreditor. I think Axnon has the anwser they have to be 230RPK to show up properly Im going to try that Borat see if I can make them work.
