About moirai not being available to play.
My name is Trollzorz1337, and I have every speedrun record over on http://www.speedrun.com/Moirai

Grundle_ is one of the moderators over there, and is sending an email to Chris, the developer, about possibly having a Moirai client that doesn't need an internet connection. We don't know anything yet. Keep updated with the forums, which you can find here: http://www.speedrun.com/Moirai/forum

Thank you for trying to revive this game; I downloaded it but had no time to play it before it got pulled.

Devs can't afford to financially support the game any longer.

Hackers attacking servers, wrecked things for everyone as usual.
Thanks devs, it was a great idea and fun while it lasted.

I would imagine it wouldn't be that tough to include a database of previously recorded responses with a new version of the game for an offline version that just picks a set at random. Then you can either just have it throw away the players new responses or maybe add them to a save file that gets appended to the database at startup so they could run into their own responses at random with enough runs.

Yeah, an offline version would be nice, if only for demonstration purposes in an effort to antiquate this as a relic in the gaming history.

I just heard about Morai today, but would it include the database or whatever? How would an offline build work?

Well, it certainly would lack a bit of something when compared to playing the live version where you are interacting with two other real players making conscious decisions. But since a large percentage of players gave crap answers for any number of reasons, there is a chance to curate a bit here as well if they so desired. Then leave it up to the random number gods to decide if the player is allowed to leave or murdered and just go to a window that tells you the result instead of bothering with the whole e-mail thing. Plus as mentioned before, when it's time for the player to respond, those can either just be discarded or added to a save file and appended to the local copy of the database loaded into memory when the game is launched so that there is a chance the player can run into their own previous responses from time to time.

This is pretty much what we told Chris, the developer, what we thought. It's either going to be chosen randomly from a list, or placeholder text. From what I know, he's really just releasing it for the speedrunners, so I can understand if he doesn't want to put in a lot of effort.
