It's a great game. The problem with GK is its lack of identity. Tex owned FMV, made It synonimous, whereas GK 1 was 2D, GK 2 was FMV and GK 3 was just a plain, and aging, 3 D environment
Still - I did miss the beautiful pixel art of part 1, as well as Tim Curry's voice work. (Though the actor playing Gabriel nails his mix of charisma and boorishness)
Also am I the only one imagining von Glower and von Zell as bitter exes? XD
And I'm jealous over Dean Erickson's hair. Godamn it's so luscious :P
There is an unofficial German patch here; it translates everything. Although it's funny hearing Gabriel and Grace speak it while acting like they don't know it.

Unfortunately, this series wasn't as popular as Sierra's others so that's the main reason it became a trend-chaser. They felt each new entry had to stand out in some way to grab attention. I feel the whole series could've been FMV and worked great in that medium. Sierra just didn't have enough faith in the niche fanbase.
