Save game error (code 21 MapViewOfFile error: 8)

I get the following error message after a few hours of play attempting to save "Save game error (code 21 MapViewOfFile error: 8)"

I am getting this error as well. Just recently it started. I can play fine but when I go to save I get this MapViewOfFile error and there is no saving the game so all you have done is lost.

Yeah I'm getting the same error "Can't save, error: 21 MapViewOfFile error: 8".
I ignored the save errors and the game eventually crashed after a while.

game version 1.0.6285
latest nvidia drivers.

Yeah I keep getting these as well and I try remember to save manually damn this has to be fixed.
I have also reported it. Frustrating!!!!
See it every few years, only way out is to fully exit wait till it syncs in Steam then it reloads okay, try and remember to save manually often so when it happens you wont go back to far. It's a bug.

I get it about every 3-5 years of gameplay on average.

To emphasize Jaunitta's point, you just have to close the game, then re-open your last auto-save. As long as you have autosave on, you'll only be losing a short period of gameplay.

I would pay for this fix.

Restarting game each time i get error 21 is not very fun.

paid dlc for fix what are u on i just paid for the game i dont want to pay for dlc when i can get stuff off the workshop for FREE. Save game is basic stuff that should be in BASE GAME

Same error for me. I get this around the 3rd year. No mods. I think it occurs after you have a few saves. I manually save a lot so this seems to occur after you have 5-6 saves in the save list. But that may just be a coincidence. Haven't figured out a work around so holding off on this game until this is fixed. This error has been around for a few months now. How do people get passed it? Do you just restart the game?
