I was having that problem and finally ended up destroying some existing sections, putting in an angled one and coming at from a different angle and was able to get things to connect. It's a lot more of a pain than it should be. The peices shoujld be much less tempermental about land/water placement if we are going to have to build piece by piece rather than just draw a link across the water and leave it at that.

true a drawing a link and having one set of materials for the bridges would definetly fix this :)

Same problem here - I tried to make a bridge to a small island and the direct way from one coast to the other just doesn't work due to the last part of the bridge, I can't build the ramp downwards.
Gonna try it now with another angle ...

Same here. Unless they can reach the other side of the bridge, it won't be completed. Very frustrating if you want to utilize an island.

you can complete bridges with only one side accessible, but you sometimes have to make an annoyingly wiggly route that costs a LOT of wood including having to destroy and build different sections. Be careful not to get too absorbed doing it or you can inadvertently freezer your folks due to wood shortages. The bridges are horrible - too time consuming to design, too fussy in their placement and too expensive in their wood costs (they should be 1/10th the cost if they're going to require this much rebuilding.

Certains shapes of the land can prevent off/on ramps from being built at a particular angle. Make sure you place down the off/on ramps on both ends first and then fill in the rest with cross bridges.

I tried it several times to get a bridge over the water to my little island - from different angles. With the 'place the ramps first'-trick - nothing works. And well, it's kind of frustrating to put a lot of logs and time into bridges without getting one that works - it's always the ramp down on the other side that doesn't work.

Please Devs - fix this!

This is important. I'll let the dev know directly asap.

Thanks :) maybe a bridge-building-system with a 'complete' blueprint drawn from one side to another would work better.

I wanted to build across a small stream for easy access but I found I couldn't. I did the ramp up and the center section but couldn't place the ramp down. it needs to be commpletely on dry land. I couldn't placeother center section because it needs to be completely in water.

Also, please make it so that a bridge piece can be destroyed from any side (or none)

The team said they are fully aware of this issue, and that they are working on it, but the fix for it may come a little later.

Okay - great to hear they're on it :) we all know this is an alpha game, and some things will get fixed earlier than others. I think the crash problems are a lot more important now.

This is kind of late and all but have you guys tried rotating the single sections so that the ropes dont block the villagers?

The issues been solved couple of patches ago. The rope or rotating the bridge had nothing to do with the problem either.
