(Used a translate tool to try and get the gist of what GZstar is saying)

The only problem with this is that you end up with a modern looking city builder. Like SimCity or something, with an Industrial zone, Farming Zone, Housing Estate, etc...not much fun for a game like this. The Market in Banished was scripted (I assume) to have traders move a proportion of stored goods around the map so everyone could get to them.
I'm struggling with this game. Gotta say. Year 13 and everyone dead. I'm almost fed up. You've got til March 2017. Sort it out Devs, Please, I mean Donkeys? Seriously?

Forest Village News : Donkeys eradicate scurvy in Wealdenwold ! (Oh FFS)

No, no zoning. You need clustered villages in Forest Village. Banished has no deep gameplay. They move the goods around and you have to care for nothing, just to have enough people carrying the stuff. It does not even makes sense the way they carry the goods in banished. You built a forester near a woodcutter. Cool. They take the wood away to every market, no matter wood is needed there or not. Forest Village is better. Distance should matter, and this is the case here. I have a ton of screenshots of my settlement. You can look at them in my profile. Distance matters in real live also. And at that time this was true even more.

GZ, took a look at your screenshots, nice job!
paly i read your comment, i had the same problem until i realised i was going way to fast! get yourself a base of 10-12 people make sure you can feed and have surplus food stacking up, then build a couple of houses dont go mad expansion!.
Remember, ONLY ADULTS work so 10 adults trying to support 8 babies and 6 teenagers wont work so my tip is expand slowly.

Certainly looks like that's where i'm going wrong. I feel the need to build another house because Sonny is all growed up, and the next thing I know I have 38 settlers and cannot sustain them. Understanding the living arrangements of settlers is the hardest thing to understand in this game. Guess I need to think more like the Waltons, I'll whack on some John Denver and try again.
