Are watchtowers actually watching anything?
What good are watchtowers if you need to upgrade them before they become useful?

Ok, so if you upgrade them, they kill the local wildlife to keep them out of your town. What about raiders? I just watched as a group of raiders torched a couple of my buidings and they were all under watchtowers. In fact, I saw one raider walk right past a newly built tower (tier 1, not upgraded for wildlife), and didn't get a scratch from it. You'd think, at the very least, a watchtower would kill the raiders if at level 1. I can do without killing wolves, that's what I have hunters for, but raiders are a problem. These things cost money (in the form of resources), so what do I get for it?

On a side note (so I don't need to start another thread), is a crypt worth anything? It says it holds five bodies, but do they...ahem...decompose so the space is freed up for more later? I'd hate to think I have to build a gazillion crypts all over the place to keep up with the dead bodies (this is assuming I go with crypts as opposed to pyres, which apparently only take one at a time).

Seems like I read they will attack raiders, but possibly with upgrades.

Yes the crypt will free space but am not sure the time. Reasonably quick though. I use them in the vicinity of mines because if a miner dies soon after another the crypt will handle it.

Level 2 and 3 towers, both round and square, are active and will kill all enemies. Level one is just for looks.
