Fish Farm
hey guys, are fish farms beter than fishing lodges ?

IMO Yes, they seem to produce the same amount of fish, except the farm uses only one worker.

Looking at the Statistics.
A Good Fishermans Lodge Produces 20-40 Fish (Unstable so average around 30)
While a Fish Farm Produces about 15-20

But as the Fish Farm only needs 1 Worker.
While the Fishermans Lodge needs 3 Workers.

So in Total the Fish Farm is more Effective. As with 3 Workers it Produces 40-60 Fish compared to the 30-40 Fish the Fishermans Lodge Produces.
Also the Fish Farm is much more Stable in Production.


The Trade Off is of course that a Fish Farm is much more Expensive to Build.
It Requires alot of Materials to Build itself. And on top you need to Build it on the Water which results in you needing even more Materials to Build a Bridge for it.


At Start you have Limited Clay so its better to just the Fishermans Lodge.
Later on its Definitively a good Idea to have Fish Farms :)

That Fish Farm is built on the coast itself and produces fish just fine. There is no need for a bridge.

They also don't seem to care about water depth so are good for shallows.

i maked a bridge bcuz it fck up the shore , also it kinda looks cooler with a bridge

It also looks Super Stupid on the Shore because its higher than the Ground xD
In the Description it actually says it needs a Bridge.

So I would assume it being possible to be placed at the Coast is more of an Bug.
Likely possible if the Coast just has the right Form for it to be stuck onto it.

But its likely Intended to work with a Bridge.
Also.
Building Space is importand ^^
And since it can be Build entirely on the Water. Its a super nice way to Spare Building Place.
As you can put a Bridge out. Make a Crossroads and then put 3 Fish Farms onto it xD

the unreliability of fishing shacks catches makes me hate them. On the other hand, the fish farm is stupid easy. I feel that the farm should have some sort of management (like crops), and the fishing shack should have some sort of indicator that tells you how depleted the waters are.

At least now there are stats available so you can see if there is a nonseasonal decrease in fishing lodge production or if it's just that your villagers decided that sushi was the only worth while food. If you get a decrease you know you're overstressing the capacity.

The System is bad to begin with.

Hunters
Fisherman
Foresters
Gatherers

They all have a laughable tiny ranges.

They should rather just have no Range Limut or at least an Gigantic Range.
Of course Efficiency would decrease due to the carry times.
But the current range is just a joke.

Which Hunter only Huns in a radius of like 50m around his hut.....
Which Fisher only fishes on his dock...


I never even bother having more than 1 Hunter or 1 Fisher per Hut.
They just end up standing around uselessly anyways.

For a Hunting Lodge to need 3 hunters you need to far out the Village into the forest.
And it doesnt need 3 hunters there to hunt.
But because 2 of the hunters are eating or warming all the time then as its far away....

The only problem is the lack of information. It's not just the Fisherman Hut but the last time I checked cause I built one the Accountant's House had no information in it. So there's no way to gather town wide info like Banished's town hall this coupled with the fact the individual buildings don't provide info and it's just.... No. Buildings have that funny graph but I don't find it useful cause it's extremely limited in what it conveys.

hey now guys this game is in devlopment, we can help improve if we want right ?, sofar i like the game and seriously there is a food problem with meat,, fish well, it works i builded 3 of fishing farms and works perfectly , this game need alot to improvve but its cool as it is now , with the workshops we can make thing even beter to play , everygame at start is bad,
