you can just tell when a dev loves their game, its something that cant be fabricated because truly nothing but passion could make a game like this, something so deeply personal and thought provoking. i thought this game would be leaning on its ps1 art style to do the heavy lifting, as do a lot of indie games as of recently, but im sososo glad i was wrong, there was thought put into every aspect of this project, the atmosphere is merely a reflection of that.

I never felt like any of the puzzles were unfair (except for the tv all my homies hate the tv puzzle) and i didn't have to rely on a guide to get through my first ending, the puzzles respect the player as well so no yellow tape syndrome, before i start rambling about how i started questioning my existence halfway through, just play the game, its an experience, go see for yourself what path you decide to take. denial? desolation? acceptance? what will it take to get to your beautiful faraway place?

"forever feels like waiting for something, and no one says what for, maybe something soft, like a name, or warm like fingers touching my skin"
thank you dev for making this game<3

Cocktail?

I don't know if I'm stupid or I don't understand the cocktail mechanic :c? I just press randomly and nothing happens either way, no animation whatsoever.

overall, i like this game. some of the puzzles drove me nuts so thank god the community hub for this game had answers to most of them. what drove me the Most insane was finding all the feathers
and it turns out i dont even think you ever use them. i think its just like an item hunt. i did 100% the game and got all achievements and the feathers Never came into play. it might be part of the archivist achievement? which is just collecting all trophies but it doesn't have any narrative purpose the atmosphere was great, i liked the music, although a lot of it was just a few notes repeating for hours and it did start to Grate me. im always chasing the high of silent hill 2 in my horror games and i liked that this one evoked a similar feeling but was more dreamlike and strange than scary. i have mixed feelings about the meaning of the game, but i can appreciate that it is very clear this game was made with intent and sincerity, so thank you arch1t3ct for sharing this experience with us

going into spoiler territory now,
i enjoyed the symbolism of the different characters, though they also felt a bit Empty and Lacking at the same time. fairy in particular, which is a shame. i think the husband and wife were most compelling to me, probably because they were the only characters in the game that were truly jarring, but aside from that, i like how their design actually incorporated what they represented. it's a bit strange to me the others weren't designed with that in mind. i also really liked the mechanic and the old man. they were good representations of helplessness and longing.

i think i kind of disagree with the meaning of the game. i dont think acceptance is abandoning all your history and feelings and trauma and leaving it all behind. it felt weird to lock yourself into the ending path so early on when there is a mystery afoot and how can you accept something when you don't even remember what it is? i think what they were trying to go for was the lesson of Not Ruminating on your suffering and trying to make sense of it all bc in a way that is denial of reality, but it didn't make sense with the way it played out. i personally feel like the denial ending should have been the acceptance ending. it makes a lot more sense to me that acceptance entails confronting and understanding all your feelings and experiences, making peace with them, showing compassion to yourself for it, and then choosing to let them go and move on. and the denial ending was that. which is why im baffled that was the denial ending. but i digress. i had a very meditative experience with this game and im glad i played it.

Как вы поняли концовки?

Обсуждение со спойлерами. Прошёл игру на все концовки и почему-то мне кажется, что сколько игроков - столько и трактовок финала. Вот мне и интересно: как вы истолковали произошедшее в конце?...
