Max archer tower

How come none of my archers are going into this thing? I've maxed this archer tower, and I have like.. 8 archers on where it's at, but none of them are actually on it

How does the tower look like and what hermit did you used ?

One of the hermits turns it into a warrior tower, which has no archers on top, just a knight and co below it.

Eventually my archers actually went up on it, it was only the first island, it took like 3 days after building it up for my archers to actually get on it though

Archers will first bond to a knight. So if you had exactly 8 archers hanging out with 2 knights, then none would go into the tower (because 4 archers per knight).

Also... you guys seem to know how hermits work. I haven't figured out what they do yet. They build towers?! Someone mind filling me in?

If one's on the back of your horse, you can upgrade your towers once more!

Towers dont make sense, if you put archers those flying creeps will easily get them, and they instantly kill the archer (so -1 spawn)... while if you just leave them as regular argers you'l just be fine...

Yeah towers are waste of money and archers unless you sure you can make ballista towers - it's basically better catapult. If you get lucky they'll clear all ground troops before flyers come. And then they'll shoot them too - one shot couple of corpses.

Single archer/balista towers do make sense, those grabbers will try to grab 2 blokes before they float back. So they snatch your archer/engineer and then float down to grab another archer, only to die in a massive volley of arrows.

I know that old hermit build the knight tower, what does the other do?

The pinkish hermit is the baker. His upgrade turns the tower into a bakery where you can buy bread to lure the vagrants! The greenish hermit is the balista tower one, which is pretty self explainatory.
