Winter ends... when?

So ive been reading alot of discussions about how in order to survive winter you need farms before it starts and to stockpile gold... well... im on day 86, island 5, had 12-13 farms Before winter came, massive amounts of gold stored and an amazing amount of archers, BUT, my farmers after long enough all dropped their scyths, quit fariming, and picked up what ever other tools were there, with no rabbits, and no farms, i of course started using my banker to find the missing income, i just ran out of my savings, day 85 and still winter remains. I know its possible to get to day 100 on island 5, but if winter doesnt ever end im as good as dead

Winter, how long does it last?

Just curious, because i noticed when winter rolls in, farmers won't build crops near farms anymore. Farmers that already have crops planted still give you money though.

also wondering this, winter rolled in around day 16 for me and hasnt left yet, at day 40 and completely out of coins

Isn't that the purpose of the winter mechanics to put a time pressure on you to move to new lands? So I don't think it will have an end once it rolls in.

Winter does go away, eventually. But it takes a long freakin' time. It's essentially there to force you to try different ways of procuring income (Farms, banker, merchant), or to force people that don't want to do that, to move on.

If you can keep up the assaults on the mountain portal as soon as it rebuilds itself, you're essentially safe until you can no longer mount an assault or start losing a ton of people.

I don´t think it ends at all. I´m on Day 85 on island four, trying to get the day 100 achievement and all my income from farming and hunting is gone as well. Since my banker has stored up well over 200 coins and I try to use only 8 coins a day for recruitment and statues (the maximum interest per day I read) it will probably go well. But of course the greed will theoretically owerwhelm my kingdom at a certain point in time in the future.
The winter time seems to be a game mechanic to make the endgame harder, so it will probably not end. But I may be wrong :)

I guess we will find out by day 100 if it ends or if we are dead.

The way I understand it, you have to finish the level before winter starts, because once winter started you can only live off farms that are already active, but anything else is gone.

I've been as far as day 102, and it was all winter. I haven't heard of anyone finding an end to it yet. It starts on different days, depending which map it is.

102? damn, yea so far no end in site, and im on Island 5, im gonna keep trying, see if i can find an end but im gonna have to agree and say i do not think that there is one
