It will be tricky when they run in opposite direction or escape my archers. I'll try to race past them and hope they turn away to my desired direction. But you will know it when you and the deer race too far and it's not worth anymore. Just let them go.
Exactly. Here's what I do:
If the deer is in desired direction (towards the camp),
walk towards the deer. If the deer doesn't notice and you're pretty close, back up and try again. IF you get too close while walking, the deer will run in the other direction! Estimating the appropriate distance comes with experience. When the deer begins running, keep a constant distance.; your horse is faster than a deer, so run up behind it (but not too close!) and then walk, to keep the deer running. IF you failed and the deer runs in the opposite direction, WAIT UNTIL IT WALKS and then try the method below.
If the deer is in the opposite direction (away from the camp),
from a fairly far distance, run toward the deer. This is a bit trickier, as the deer won't always run back toward you, but it usually does. IF the deer is eating, wait until it walks to try this method.
Hope this helped!
