how to make workers push my boat?

I dont know what im doing wrong. This is second time in a row, my workers pushed the boat not far away from a portal, between the trees. Monsters killed my 2 workers, i revived them, got 4+ around as well. no one is going to push the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boat. i assume its too close to portal and they are afraid, but when its closed, they dont come to push it either -_- im going for achievents, beat land in X days etc. currently im on 10/20 days (3rd island), 1 portal out of 2, having problems.
Last time, same thing happend on 2nd island. i built the boat on 7th day (have to reach the end till 15). Eventually my boat got stuck by the portal, same situation. noone was willing to push it. i figured to literally cut all the trees till the boat, "make" workers come closer. i built walls not far away too. archers helped take down the portal, but i failed to make it in time.

note: on second island, i didnt make knights cos I wanted to build the boat asap. Im trying to make them now, on 3rd island, see if knights can push through, tho it would ALOT easier if workers pushed it as least to the range of bowman attacks.

If you have any workers tied up with catapults they wont come. Some workers just dont move from their posts. Recruit more, and kill the nearest portals where the boat is, workers get scared of them.

well, im having the opposite problem now. workers are running deep in the woods NON STOP, even when its night. right to their deaths omg -_- i try to send knights so support them but all of them die anyway. im running out of money to build troops :D

You may have an unmanned catapult or queued up build orders that are too far away from your outer walls for your workers to reach before nightfall.
Also, not destroying all portals in reach of the boat will make completing the level very difficult (if not impossible)

It would be easier if you clear all the portals that block the boat to the dock. I know you want to the achievement fast, but if it's your few first playthrough, it will be rather difficult. I'm not sure it's possible too.

I got those achievements when I revisited the previous islands with two (or three) knights and full bag of coins. If you want to unlock everything, you have to revisit the previous islands anyway.

Did you order them to cut trees somewhere in the wood or they ran to your boat? My workers wandered beyond the wall at night too, but not that far.

If the achievements are what you're after, I recommend getting some knights from the third or fourth island and take them with you to the second island. If two of the three knights start on the correct side you can rush through the portal(s) in the first 6 days without upgrading your camp to a castle. Starting with the stag will also help you a lot in the first few days.

Have you updated the game recently? Also their backlog of work (chopping a tree before the boat) may be holding them up, but they shouldn't be running after trees at night like idiots, they usually wait until after the greed are gone for the night. Maybe best to restart your game :\

Thank you for responses. I actually did just fine starting the island without money/troops. I had plenty of days left as well. but as i was getting close to the last portal from one side, other was getting pretty hard monster waves. what pissed me off was building workers (since i had to rebuild walls anyway), as soon as they rebuilded them they just started running towards the boat which is like miles away, even when it was night (in fact archers ran away too) I wish they could stay inside the walls during night, so in the morning i could support them with 2 knights. anyway eventually failed the quest, i saw the graveyard of zombie workers in the woods, jesus there were so many of them :D
my game is up to date. I did not order to cut trees anywhere (it was in previous game, as i was trying to "lure" workers to the boat).
I'll try later again :D these achievements are obtainble even without extra help from other islands imo. Thought if i fail again, Ill just do it normally

i just save and quit and then started it back up and they started to push the boat again, must be an ai thing
