You Die, the Game Restarts? + Travel through islands?

Hi, whenever you die, do you have to restart the whole game? Just bought it half an hour ago, and it's quite cool, though I'm a bit scared of dying because of that matter.

And also, when you build the boat, and travel to the next island, can you ever return to the first one, and do you loose something if so?

Don't worry, you don't lose everything when you die! There's a signpost in the forest, if you pay it 2 gold you get a map piece that unlocks something. You get to keep that whether you beat the island or die.
Also, once you beat the first island (by leaving with the boat), you get to choose which island to go to in the future. After the first you can only choose the second, but after beating the second, you can choose the first or the third. You don't get anything extra for redoing the first one though, since it has only one map piece, but later islands have multiple, as you will see on your map in the main menu once it's filled in.
Feel free to still replay the first island for fun though ^^
Note that it will be restarting it, you won't find your existing kingdom when you return.

Okay, thanks, but what do you mean that later islands have multiple parts? In the second i only found one and destroyed all the portals, I even destroyed that one that was in a mountain...

Sorry I wasn't clear, you get a new map part if you sail to island 2 again. So you have to play it multiple times to get everything.
You can see on the map that there are two circles on island 2, one of them gets an unlock once you beat it but one of them will still be empty. Island 1 should only have the one circle with the unlocked statue.
