Skull Island - How to play it.
Hey

I have not played KNL for a year or so, and have come back for the DLC.

I can't see any way to select Skull Island, do you have to complete an island first, or is there some other gating factor at work.

Appreciate any help
Thanks

You have to be kidding me, I have to unlock all the islands first?

I have already done this on both New Lands and Classic, but since I have reinstalled on a new computer the islands are all locked again.

Why would you content block something like this ?

If anyone knows how to unlock the islands please let me know, or any other way to get to skull island.

Thanks

I guess Raw Fury thought it would be spoilers to tell you, and is frustrating to not know how. I just unlocked it, and what you do is beat the default island, then beat island 5 (IF all the islands are already unlocked that is), play the one on the very bottom of the map (the largest looking one), beat it, and you can now choose the now uncovered island 6, Skull Island. I think if you die on Skull Island, you have to reunlock it by beating Isle 5 again.

Thanks mate.

I can select island 5, so perhaps the reintall was not the issue I thought it was. MIa Culpa.

I still think its silly to force a player to play something they have already beaten, and from my perspective its immensly frustrating.

Guess I need to redo 5 and think happy thoughts for 5 friggen hours.

Anyway thanks very much for your reply, hope your run is going well. Apologies for any frustration that leaks through, none of it was directed at you.

Goodluck.

It's fine i was frustrated at Raw Fury for not bothering with even a hint of how to unlock this, i mean they want us to play their new DLC product but act like telling us would be spoilersville. I will say this about the game;the islands are different now-dont look forward to statues or many hermits (at least in 5), it is definitely rebalanced, and i say for the worse since Skull Island has statues, go figure (and a new one!). Absolutely rethink your winning strategy for island 5. It took me 35 in game days, and it used to be like 15 or 20.

It's probably best that you play Island 5 before playing Skull Island. :) Skull Island is not for the faint of heart nor the unprepared - bring as many knights as you can shove on the boat, as many coins as you can fit in your wallet, your dog, and your choice of hermit on your back as you load up the boat (I picked the Baker, as I'm sure there aren't many Beggar camps, and they're spread far and wide).

Thanks guys.

Yes you are both right it has changed a lot since I played last. For the better I think.

I started on island four, don't ask me how as I really don't know. I can't even select the right island, so I probably will fail epically at skull island. ;)

I got through 4 in 30ish days, and am doing 5 now. So alls well that ends well I guess. I am very happy that the runs have changed and it was not really that frustrating playing it again, once I saw how much it had changed.

Thanks to both of you for your help, I do appreciate it.

@The_Soldier - Thanks for the advice, my boat is full of everything. Lost the dog early, but got everything else.
Help! I beat 5th island but when I choose skull island it just takes be back to island 1 and now my ship is ruined, unable to be repaired. What gives?

If you have no ship, then you are on skull island.

Have fun.
