Supporting OpenXR != supporting all platforms. OpenXR is just a framework to help aid VR development and device support but it still requires a lot of work and per-platform knowledge. You don't have to use OpenXR and OpenXR != OpenVR.
SteamVR (Which uses Valve's OpenVR) didn't have full support for OpenXR content till February of this year. And OpenXR support isn't even complete yet in engines like Unity.
Your statement about (almost**) all systems being supported is correct, however saying all the devices will be supported now and forever? You don't know that, you cant see into the future. And that SteamVR supports a lot of devices doesn't mean that Quest games run on PC though, and its not a guarantee that they'll keep building for PC.
Even if they keep putting out a build for Quest and PC, they are still majorly different. Its great that Unity handles a lot of the work but because the Quest x platform uses Android (custom version), there's still a load of work.
Saying SteamVR supports all devices doesn't mean that every game will work on all devices. There are a load of games on Steam itself that won't work with Index or other controllers. So even on Steam itself, having a SteamVR compatible device doesn't mean you can play all VR games available on Steam.
Added to that, there are major differences between the platforms like the rendering API, rendering power and methods and platform specific bugs. That's why they always ask us platform and device info when reporting bugs.
It would make sense for Downpour to stop supporting a smaller platform to simplify their work and bring down development costs, which shouldn't be an issue if Facebook is pumping it. But also, Facebook is pumping it. (With smaller I'm referring to platform earnings)
He asked a valid question.
A: I doubt they'll ever stop supporting PCVR for this game, especially since a few of the devs use PCVR devices. I do wonder how things are going to unfold with games in the future though.
its funny cause they downgraded the graphics and they say their gonna improve them i think not.
I really wish steam would take action against this kind of ♥♥♥♥, especially since they kept selling the game for months with the old screenshots and videos still up from before they sold out. That's blatant scamming.
I'm surprised they have their discussion page open at all since they obviously don't care about their players one bit.
