Getting disconnected to main menu? read this.
We just released update v1.5.4 which should contain a fix for the majority of people with the disconnecting issues!

With this update we added more logging in terms of the issues with EAC and other disconnects to help us better understand the issue.

Please share your output logs if you ever get disconnected, to get your logs, navigate to the options menu ingame and click the newly added "logs" button on the top right.
This will take you to the directory where the logs get saved.

The game will save up to three sessions. Every time you restart the game, it'll overwrite your old session.

Before considering to share your output log, please try following these following possible solutions first :

One reason could be because of a unstable network. Our current networking solution kicks players from the connection after a certain amount of packet loss. People using wifi with a bad connection or a mobile connection to the internet do get this problem a lot.
- Try optimizing your connection by placing your access points in a better location.
- Try switching to a cabled connection if you use WIFI.
Easy Anti Cheat error.

Another reason could be because there is an issue with EAC on your machine. This could be either a bad installation or a antivirus or other injecting software that might be causing issues for you.

To check if it’s a bad installation, you can try reinstalling EAC.
To install/re-install EAC, you will need to navigate to the "Easy Anti Cheat" folder in your Onward install directory. Inside the EAC folder will find the installer for EAC (EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe), run it as an administrator. then click :

- Uninstall EAC (if applicable)
- If Steam installation, verify game files, otherwise fully uninstall and re-install
- Install EAC from game directory
- Restart PC

Too see if any other software might be interfering with EAC, you can try disabling software running in the background. Software like antiviruses might be interfering with EAC as well. We don’t recommend you to turn of any antivirus software, but whitelisting Onward should be good enough.

If none of these solutions solved it for you, please share your output logs with us. This can be shared with apps like Google Drive or Google Docs.

Thanks!

The server is sending pings that the client is either willfully not responding to or unable to respond to, causing you to time out.
Likely network issue of some kind.

Are you on wifi perhaps? or on a mobile network? it could either be that you're losing connection or the game installation might be bad.

yes im using a wifi network. But i never find this kind of connection issue in other games. I will try to re-install the game and see if it will fix the problem. will let you when the result come out. Thanks for your help.

I am sorry, but this is joke.
EAC support confirmed with several people that there is nothing wrong with EAC and you still trying to figure what's wrong with it.
Also from reading on my post everyone who was told to try everything above 100% of those people issue didn't go/wasn't solved.
I failed to see why or how after major update suddenly there is problem with "wifi" with network issue, antivirus issue or trying to whitelist game, but this was all fine before the major update...and suddenly there is issue with EAC...
People were also sending logs including myself and nothing got solved. there was 4 updates to "fix game" which still 16 days later is unplayable.
And then you did update to the for people to "allow to send logs" which we could do before this update anyway and we sent logs to you and nothing has changed. So by asking for more logs and putting button "logs in game will apparantly solve something.
I am sorry but I failed to see what was the point in this update, I failed to see how sending someone more logs would help game even looking at the wrong direction [ EAC ]
I wish and I hope this game will be fixed 1 day, I do, because I played this game everyday with friends and had tons of fun. Until the major update which broke game to beyond.
I am sorry to say, but I lost hope and somehow I don't believe this game will ever be fixed.
And the problem is that instead of doing this little updates and trying to figure out what's wrong with game we could have played game after you have done rollback.

"oh sorry game is broken and you can't play, this is taking way too long we gonna do rollback so you can keep playing whilst we try to find a issue and after that we update game again"

But no, no rollback just wait and send us logs......

Sorry Mr. Death I don't believe you can fix this game anymore. it's been 16 days and nothing has changed after 5 fix patches
Development isn't easy and it's certainly not as easy as flicking a switch. Fixing a bug that only happens to an extremely select few playing the game, we'd have to find the actual cause of the error first!
At first we we're trying to rule out the problems with the error. EAC, unstable networks or a broken installation could lead to the same result = getting disconnected.

After releasing our latest patch we made it so we'll get a more detailed logging of what goes on in the game, giving us more information on what's going wrong. We're finally to a point where we're getting information on this error and we're working on a fix(it's not EAC).

We're not doing a rollback because it's an extremely tiny amount of players getting the disconnecting issue.

I explained earlier why we did this patch, it was to expand the game logging for more information hence i ask you again: please replicate the error again and please send me the logs!

thanks!

i have same problem... i get kick on mp and solo mode... i can't play!
Marco Banti Feb 16, 2019 @ 11:37pm
I did some tests, if I launch steam in off-line mode I can not access the multiplayer but in game-only mode without problems, if I launch steam in online mode returns to the menu after a few seconds both in solo and in multi ... my adsl provider it's wifi and I lose many packages. could not you change some parameters of the EAC to allow you to play even those who have this type of connections? the problem is definitely the EAC ... sorry for my english!
Marco Banti Feb 16, 2019 @ 11:39pm
or give the possibility to choose whether to play with the EAC or not

We're not going to give an option to play without EAC unfortunately. But that's not the issue why you're getting kicked. It's something to do with out networking solution for the game.

We're working on an updated version with some extra fixes in a patch.

For now try seeing if you can optimise your local network for a better connection.
Thanks!

Ever since the update, i can not join the new logs and also sometimes end up at the large "ONWARD" screen which shows the quarantine map behind it with a loading of 0%. After a long period of time it will sometimes kick back to the main menu.

being thrown back from SP mission to main menu. I already have reinstalled EAC because since 1.5.3 I didn't even reach the main menu. Now I'm getting kicked out of my missions. Plase fix this bs, you are driving this great game against a wall with this.
