Counter Strike 1.6 maps, is it possible?
Hi,

As a former hardcore CS 1.6 player, I'd wet pants if I could play this game in the awesome de_dust, de_inferno, cs_assault and so on.
Are those maps copyrighted?

I know many people (sim fans mainly) will disagree, but thinking about competitive playing I think it would also be a good idea to implement a weapon buying system and basically fully replicate the Counter Strike's game system. Will mods be possible at some point? Is it in the roadmap?

Thanks

Custom map support would be excellent.

I'd love to see some CS maps implemented.

For those telling me to stop, I did a search on "Counter Strike" and I found nothing related. Please post a link to the discussion so I can write there...

Not sure what is with the hate? If the game supports custom maps, why not have it in? Nobody is going to force you guys to play it. And to be honest, we'll probably get even more vives sold simply because of that one map. I'm not a CS fan. I stuck at the game, but don't ♥♥♥♥ on others ideas.

I see a number of concerns here. First, this is a somewhat milsim game and not as arcade as CSGO.
Secondly I dare to say the majority of the current playerbase is well beyond the age of at least 20 and I enjoy that a lot! I wouldnt want to have bunch of 14 year old storming in because they heard it had CS maps in it. (I know it would require them to first get a Vive and a decent PC but lets face it, the kid cries, the parent buys). I already had the pleasure today to play with a bunch of kids and it was awful, one of the kids began a tk sprea out of boredom.
Also, those CS maps are extremely small and linear with only having two possible options for objective placements. In Addition I despise the "Rush B" phylosiphy in general.

Counter Strike is a 15 years old mod, so most of the people that played since the begining are older than 30.
Besides that, having fast paced or more direct maps just gives more diversity to the game. You can always choose which map to play depending on your available time, which is very limited once you grow older...

But that's not unrealistic. There are scenarios where CQB exists, and I think it'd be fun to have that be a separate playlist altogether.
You get people b*tching because "People are just going to run and gun!" But to that I say, this a as close to a simulation as it gets. If people are running and gunning and succeeding, clealy that's a viable tactic. A stupid one, because you could very easily die. But it's just as viable in real life as in a game.
All in all, I don't think he should create super small maps and integrate them into the regular playlist, but rather have two separate playlists, or even three: CQB, Mix, and Long Range.
