I own both and I will say without a doubt I enjoy this much more than I ever enjoyed Squad if I am being honest.

haha thanks I'll see about it then.
I do not own squad yet I do own onward. I have friends who have squad and from what ive heard is you will have an easier time being better on squad then you would onward. So if you hate dying a lot without many kills then id say squad. Yet you can improve in onward. My 2 cents are Onward cause VR fps is so much cooler than monitor fps lol you can always try one and if you dont like it refund it!

Slightly off-topic but I've been so hyped for bf1 beta but only played it for about 15 mins. Why would you want to sit at your desk when you can be IN the battle?

I find it so hard to enjoy any FPS game on a monitor post onwards
Related to his note is only fps game on a monitor I find my self still playing is CSGO. Main reason their ranking system. ELO based not xp based. Makes it more competitive to me. I doubt this game will have an ELO based system. Most likely XP but I will not complain. Plus my computer can run csgo just fine and not onward lol. I know its early access and im patiently waiting for the day my 970 can run it perfectly.

Between the two, I think both are different enough to justify, at least in these stages.

Onward has the uniqueness factor, as the realism in having to duck behind cover IRL and fight with no 'game-y' features (like a HUD, magical sense of how much ammo is in your mag, etc.). The drawback is that, in these earliest of stages, 4V4 on relatively small maps makes it anticlimactic, at least when you find an enemy, engage, oh hey that was the last guy left... It just feels like the game ends too quickly, on average.

Squad is a much larger game, in terms of map size and player count, but that's balanced by being a normal M+KB game. It's a bit better about being action-packed throughout -- especially given respawns in some modes, and a huge player count in others -- but obviously is not nearly as mind-blowing since you're just using a mouse to aim and shoot.

Hey OP, this is a VR only game, with room scale and motion control and as far as I can see you have no HTC VIVE or at least no VR games atm. You can't play it on a monitor with mouse and keyboard. You can't compare it to flatgames like Squad or all the other FPS.

970 is bare minimum for VR. Your 970 is never going to be able to run it perfectly.

You're a moderator, your review is naturally biased.

I have many Squad hours, and still love it. Best miltary based fps out there by far.

But you simply cannot compare it to Onward, they are just so different in terms of experience due to the VR.

I am new to Onward, but will love that as well for sure.

Never said perfectly. But flickering black screen constantly should not happen either. I meant optimization.

I wasn't a moderator until today, but I have been a gamer forever. If I thought they were equal or Squad was better I would say it.

This is how I truly feel.

i own both games but for me Onward is by far the better game!!

I own both and cant compare them. Because its comparing two completley different mediums. I like both, Squad is farther along, Onward Is VR.

I can see myself playing more Onward as content is released.

This. No point to compare a VR game with a 2D game.
