Recording Right Eye? *Solved (more or less)*
Hello, does anybody out there know how to set up recording so that while recording Onward it records the right eye? Or both? As I don't run left handed in this game, whatever is recorded doesn't give ADS any justice, since the right eye isn't shown

Not possible. Left eye only hardcoded in unity. However if you open steam vr mirror display you can choose left/right or both. Only downside is it has circular cutout as its direct image sent to vive displays. But if you crop it, it will look pretty nice. This guy[www.twitch.tv] has been streaming the way I described and its perfect.

I've been streaming like that, only issue is you're either too zoomed in (You can only see the center of the right eye) or you have black in the side/corners of the stream.

You can cover that up with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like stream clutter if you're into that I guess.

I read that you can do that with steam vr mirror display, and looked for a little bit today, but couldn't find that exact setting? I will resume my hunt tomorrow/later today.

I am really just wanting to get video so my friends can see a bit better what Onward is like, and the aiming, etc, to get a bit of a better idea of what I am seeing and experiencing. I don't care about gathering a huge following or needing to worry about the clutter around the screen.

The Steam VR Mirror works fine.

There are a few ways you can use it.

#1 - Use the "Right Eye" as a "Scope Camera" and zoom it in really close so you can see what you are aiming at.
(Done in this video by me)

#2 Or zoom in and crop the Right Eye to be the full screen. (Which is what the Onward Screen does anyway - It crops and zooms in the Left Eye)
--I will be recording using this in the future since it is way better than having the "scope cam"

Alright. I figured the basics out yesterday, but ran into a ton of issues while doing it. Not sure if my PC just needed a reboot, or if actually trying to record the mirror did it, but I had the vive crash and give errors I haven't seen before, and do it multiple times. Once I stopped everything more or less settled. So that may have had something to do with it. If you don't mind my asking, what do you use to record? I have tried Plays.TV since I already had it, and liked it, but that only gets the left eye. OBS I've used before, but that was when I started getting issues.

OBS is what James uses (the person who told me to just crop the right eye).

I personally use xsplit broadcaster.

Alright. Thank you, I'll see what I can get done.

Use the software OBS with the plugin OpenVR[obsproject.com]. With the OpenVR plugin with OBS you can choose which eye to record and you won't get the fish eye effect at all. I use it all the time. Just add an new OpenVR element to the scene you wan't to record with.
